Fox News FIRES Marc Lamont Hill, Liberal Analyst

Liberal Fox News analyst Dr. Marc Lamont Hill has been fired, News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch revealed at a shareholder's meeting Friday.

Murdoch made the announcement after being asked about Hill's "reputation of defending cop killers and racists."

"Relax, y'all. Don't believe the internet rumors," Lamont Hill tweeted earlier today, but he would later confirm the news to the Huffington Post, saying, "I am no longer employed by Fox News and grateful for the opportunity and I have nothing bad to say."

Lamont Hill's credibility as a commentator had been called into question by David Horowitz last month:

I find [O'Reilly's] continued promotion of Professor Marc Lamont Hill an embarrassment to his own standards and an insult to the intelligence of African Americans particularly and his entire audience generally. Tonight he interviewed Hill for an entire segment on the subject of Iran, as though Hill had anything intelligent to say on the subject. Mr. Hill do you think we should give Iran three months or six months to let the UN inspectors in? How would Marc Lamont Hill know? How would he even be in a position to make an intelligent speculation? By his own account, Hill is an expert on "hip-hop culture," i.e., rap music. His academic degree is in education. What are his views on foreign policy worth, unless putting him on was designed to show up the shallow views of the left?

Since then, as the Hollywood Reporter reports, Lamont Hill "has been the target of increasing criticism on the blogosphere for alleged sympathies to controversial figures including Assata Shakur and Mumia Abu-Jamal." He also defended Van Jones on Fox News' "On the Record with Greta van Susteren."

Marc Lamont Hill says MSNBC and CNN are further to the left than FOX is to the right. Remember this guy contributed on all 3 cable station and had just been fired by FOX. He also says FOX does more "both sides of the aisle" balanced commentary. All you Marc Lamont Hill defenders can now do a 180 and start at.tacking him.

Let me see if I have this correct, Dr. Lamont Hill has a PhD. in education, so his views and OPINIONS on Iran and other domestic and foreign political topics aren't credible.

Sean Hannity has a degree in ..........? In...........?

Incompetence remains a code word whites use in dealing with professional blacks whose philosophy they disagree with. It becomes an unchallenged conversation ender. It was used against the president during the campaign and has resurfaced as he faces difficulties in office.

Dr. Hill was no less qualified to speak to world issues than Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh or the other on air personalities at FOX. To suggest that he is only qualified to speak to urban black issues is insulting.

If you want to end a discussion about the merits of a white person, label them a racist. If you want to do the same to a professional black person, label them incompetent.

I always thought having Hill on FOX to promote his liberal race card viewpoints was kind of unfair to actual African American scholars. His arguments are so weak and illogical, and his ability to articulate them so unhelpful, he's like a living straw man.

But now that he's "fired" he will become a hero on the liberal guilt circuit and he can go on tour with Ward Chamberlin and Cindy Sheehan. He'll be fine.

Totally agree! I always hated when they had Mr. Hill on. Some of his arguments/defense of positions were just ridiculous. He won't be missed.

My opinion: He was "used" by Bill O'Reilly to make African Americans look bad to viewers. Their point? This is why they have few people like Marc on their how or working for them behind the scenes. Being fired from FOX NEWS is nothing to fret over. Marc will appear again and in a better light....and more positive light, for sure.

Then how do you explain Juan Williams?? He is intelligent, articulate, and educated. His positions, which I don't always agree with, are reasoned, thoughtful and well-said. Dr. Hill will twist himself into knots trying to defend the irrational, indefensible positions and policies of the current administration and other leftist liberal lemmings that are destroying this great natio. It destroyed any credibility the man had. I'm glad he's gone!

I've noticed a trend on right wing talk shows. The only liberals they allow to speak are ones who are either very extreme in their views, or who don't have a grasp of the basics on whatever the topic is. Obv., this is to portray liberals as either way out in left field, or simply uninformed.

Could it be that Roger Ailes, that saint, decided to find a black person who fit the description above? I imagine that you will never see a legit center/left pundit on Faux, because he/she would eviscerate anyone they were up against.
