What's Your Reaction?

Former President George H.W. Bush feels that the tone of the national discourse lacks civility. "I don't like it," Bush told CBS. "The cables (TV) have a lot to do with it."

Bush said he believes Obama was "entitled to civil treatment" when it comes to his critics. But it was not just those on the right, who presumably make up a majority of Obama's critics, that Bush felt were responsible for the angry tone. The left was guilty as well.

Singling out MSNBC hosts Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann, Bush said, "the way they treat my son and anyone who's opposed to their point of view is just horrible." Maddow and Olbermann, he added, are "sick puppies."

Needless to say, Maddow and Olbermann weren't taking Bush's criticism lying down. Watch their response:

Typical comment from the 41st president whose "pappy" was part of a plot to militarily overthrow FDR and install a Fascist government in order to maintain their profits from trading with Hitler & Mussolini.

I saw this on Rachel’s show. Can you imagine for a single moment that GHW Bush doesn’t like the way Keith and Rachel have treated his son? He calls them “sick puppies”!
The people that raised “W” are the sick ones. Babs Bush’s comments about the poor people forced to temporarily live in the Houston Astrodome:
"And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this--this (she chuckles slightly) is working very well for them." The real kicker is “she chuckles slightly”.

Number 1: Only a REAL sick-o puppy could make such a comment.
Number 2: Only a World Class sick-o puppy would chuckle about it.

Neil Bush’s Silverado Savings and Loan scandal cost taxpayers $1.3 billion.
Jeb and the State of Florida, using his connections to stop the recount of the 2000 election.

This entire family is sick-o. More important, America is sick of them. America is sick FROM them.
I find it comical that GHW Bush would call out Rachel and Keith as sick puppies.

The SICK-O Bush family has damaged our country more than any other disaster. Don’t they even know enough to know when to shut up and go away?

Yet another example of Republican's projecting.

Whatever they feel is the truth of what they are or what they do, right wingers call Democrats.

This is classic psychological transfer of guilt. Poppy Bush cannot rationalize the guilt he feels for the piss poor job of fathering Bush "the screw up," so he feels compelled to transfer the blame to those in the media who have accurately nailed the younger Bush for his obvious failures.

It is too sad that the father will be remembered in history not as a competent public servant who as the 41st President performed his duties with distinction. Puting aside the dirty campaign he approved against Dukakis in 1988, his public career was admirable. However, he will forever be remembered as the father of the worst man in American history to ever occupy the oval office.

Criticizing Keith and Rachel for doing their jobs and reporting the facts and flaws in the administration of Bush 43 proves, only, that Poppy is aging ungracefully.

Perhaps Rachel and Keith are sick puppies, but as far as I knew neither one of them ever threw up on the Prime Minister of Japan. Poppy, go back to bed.

Thank God, we now have from the old man's lips, how disgusting he and his brood truly are. My most fervent hope is that the world will finally see how cretinous Bush Sr. is.

Rachel and Keith have contributed more to this country than all the Bush's put together.....matter of fact, the Bush's have done EVERYTHING to destroy this country. That family of crooks is the worse excuse for public service ever known to mankind.

After the disaster that his loins produced he should be the last one to accuse anyone else.
