What's Your Reaction?

Congressmen Dennis Kucinich and Steve LaTourette appeared on the "Jay Leno Show" last night in a D.L. Hughley segment about finding common ground. In order to move forward with health care reform, Hughley believes we need to bring some love and understanding to the debate. That's exactly what the pols accomplished by riding a bike for two, curling up in their snuggies, and singing folk songs.

I think we need to bring back segregation, but instead of black and white it should be liberal and conservative. Separate but equal governments and populations, with no shared resources. The differences are too great to bridge. You cannot reconcile sane and insane.

Bob Barr? Give me break. He worked hard to earn his bat-sh*t crazy stripes years ago. Now he tries to go legit? With Libertarians no doubt. Libertarians looove sheep's clothing.

The problem I see with Libertarians is that they are living 200 years in the past. We will never go back to the original language of the Constitution, and nor should we, since it was always deemed a dynamic document by the people intuitively bound to its ideals. Libertarians don't get that.

IMHO, Libertarians represent the worst-case-scenario in a society. They can't evolve, therefore they denounce. They're fringe anarchists who h_te any form of central government beyond the barest, while embracing regional government.

I defy one of them to list ten cities in this country who've benefited from local government decisions. I've got news for them. Local governments insidiously tax their citizens based upon elevated values determined by the same oligarchs that infest us nationally.

Me, too.

Rep. Kucinich has been right on track when it comes to the Single Payer proposal (HR 676), since he takes into account the tremendous success of the existing single payer programs, i.e. Medicare and Medicaid, despite the fact that Medicaid deals with the indigent population always on the downside of healthcare cost.

As much as I would want him to lead this nation, I am resigned to the fact that he probably does a more substantial job for this country serving in the House.

I live in Idaho. If only we had a Kucinich here.

He's my Congressman--I'm so proud of him! The Ohio 10th district is not particularly liberal, but we LOVE Dennis! I agree with him most of the time, but even when I don't I know he's representing his true position--no lobbyist could buy him.

The REAL reason people don't take Rep. Kucinich seriously is the MSM's deliberate obfuscation and the failure of any news organization outside C-Span to show his tremendous energy for human rights. The man has never wavered or acquiesced; something that can't be said about so many whom the people DO take seriously.

Americans in general - all image, no substance.

They've done this to everyone they consider "fringe," even including last year - they ignored Nader, Kucinich, Ron Paul and Bob Barr.

Now, however, Fox News has given rise to the right-wing fringe with Palin, Joe the plumber, and the whole Tea Party/Birther movement. It's going to be hard to pull that fringe back into the mainstream for the 2010 elections now that the wingnuts feel like they have support. Sucks to be them.
