What's Your Reaction?

So this is obviously a DVR screw up, but all in all it's not a bad description. NY Mag takes issue with the "protecting military secrets" part and Buzzfeed pauses at "uplifting." At least Comedy Central says it's right on!

Many of us here in the 'old country' keep up with what's occurring in our ex-colony through various intelligence snippets that sneak through between soap operas and football- sorry, soccer - coverage and other diversions designed to distract us from real stuff. So thank God for the Huffpo on the jolly old interweb thingy and also people like those who enabled us to watch every instalment of the Daily Show on UK tv - should be required viewing in every college - then we might get human beings as politicians! ...(or do I mean 'instead of...'?)

Comedian or not, I thank my lucky stars every day for Jon Stewart. He is so much more than a comedian. He is a piercing light in the political darkness. Thank you Jon.

So true. When living in a free society that incorporates a propaganda machine like Faux - it's best that there be the comedic to shine the light on the ironic, hypocritical and ridiculous - when supposed real journalists are too lazy to dig deep enough to call them on the ridiculous. All are fair game including this administration, CNN and the networks, but thank God - the DS keeps an eye on the absurd!

Satirists have given us the truth since the dawn of time. I dont think it pathetic at all.

Stewart holds the current torch that has passed through such hands as Will Rogers, HL Mencken, Ben Franklin, Mother Goose, and all the way back to the original Court Jester. Satire is like Belgian chocolate: those that can't sense or enjoy its layered flavors should stick to Tootsie Rolls, well-done steaks, and Glen Beck.

i love satire and the daily show.

HOWEVER, my problem is when people GET their news from the daily show, and not watch it for a satirical take on what they've already learned from the news that day.

What is even more pathetic is that I think he (Jon Stewart) needs to run for office.

If he takes week... then he should go to five days a week and give us the three Fridays! SOOOO much seems to happen on any given Friday, thern it pales by Monday! Maybe a stand-in for those Fridays... or that whole week?

The Daily Show... Guest Hosted By Lewis Black!

I miss The Daily Show when Jon Stewart is taking some time off - although it is well deserved and if it keeps him this fresh and clear, it's worth the week.

The segment Jon did last week on CNN was one of the all time best! If you didn't see it, go to the Daily Show's website and watch.
