Tom Gipson Is The View's Ultimate Volunteer

Over the last few months, The View asked its viewers to nominate Americans for their Ultimate Volunteer award. The winner, named last week, is Tom Gipson, noted for his selfless efforts building over 1,000 homes nationwide for the homeless.

Gipson appeared on The View today as part of iParticipate's week of volunteerism. He appeared with Michael Troy, director of marketing for Starwoods Hotels and Resorts, who awarded him with one million "Starpoints," which he can use toward any number of fancy Hawaiian vacations. That would explain why they're wearing those leis.

This isn't about giving people homes. This is about working with Habitat For Humanity to help more people buy homes.

Also, why homes for homeless? Why aren't apartments good enough? Most working Americans can't afford a home!

Not jealous - confused. How can it be cost-effective? Wouldn't it be smarter to offer more apartments for more homeless people instead of fewer homes?

He worked hard to help out homeless people. Someone else thought it would be nice to reward him. End of story.
