Here at HuffPost Green, we're all about the local food movement. Food typically travels hundreds, if not thousands of miles to get to our plates, so eating locally-grown food can lower our environmental impact.

In honor of the local food movement and No Impact Week's food theme, we've featured photos submitted by our readers of delicious locavore restaurants. Check out this extensive collection of green eateries from all over the USA (and one in Canada) and vote for your favorite!

We know many of our readers are avid cooks and eaters, in honor of No Impact Week we want to see the photos of the local, organic seasonal, sustainable or homegrown food dishes you've made. Send us your best photos with mouth-watering descriptions!

Here's how it works: hit the participate button, leave your description and mark the location of where the picture was taken by searching for an address in the box on the top right of the map, upload your photo and hit submit. Thank you!

James - Philadelphia, PA

a-train:James is a fine dining establishment in Philadelphia’s Bella Vista neighborhood serving modern American cuisine. Our service is impeccable; the dining environment, elegant yet friendly. Our menu focuses on local, seasonal produce, humanely raised meats, wild seafood, and artisan cheeses. Because we select only fresh locally-grown ingredients, the menu changes with the seasons.

I'll make my own - far larger portions for the same price...

It's the first rule of restaurant photography: Never ever EVER pose food items next to anything that a viewer could use as a means of reference, such as eating utensils, like forks. The pictures containing forks speak for themselves. You couldn't feed a starving guppy with some of those "portions"...

Unless the cost matched the portion, then it's okay... :)

Anybody looking for a freelance photographer right now? :-D

If only I could convince my partner to let me plant fruit trees in our backyard. Plums go for about one dollar each at the market, but I could grow them fine right here, along with a lot of other fruit.

The problem is, one tree can only produce fruit at a given rate - by and large, for a readily available supply, combined with cost of long-term storage, it's really a fruitless struggle... bad pun not really intended...

Stanton, Virginia has a wonderful local food restaurant called Staunton Grocery. The trout sandwich is amazing and the burgers are not bad at all. Beautiful meat and produce from the Shenandoah Valley. check it out on Beverly St., in Staunton.
