CHICAGO — Sarah Palin is going to sit down with Oprah Winfrey.

Harpo Productions announced Tuesday that the former governor of Alaska and Republican vice presidential candidate will appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Monday, Nov. 16.

According to Harpo, the interview will be Palin's first about her new book, "Going Rogue: An American Life," and it will be the first time Palin and Winfrey will meet.

Palin's book was No. 4 on Amazon.com's best-seller list on Tuesday. It's slated to be released Tuesday, Nov. 17, the day after Palin's interview with Winfrey.

This is going to one very interesting interview. Oprah actually READS the books, before interviewing the author. If Sarah Palin didn't write or contribute much to this book, then she is in a whole bunch of trouble!! LOL!!! Oprah didn't have any of the candidates appear on her show, during the election. I wonder if Sarah Palin will apologize for her trashy back-woods behaviour, when she ran around trashing Oprah?

Touche! And herein lies the real reason why Palin resigned from her governor post in Alaska! He ultimate dream has been to be on Oprah, so she had to get somebody to write some kind of book for her, didn't matter what, as long as it said 'book' on it and it had a cover, so she could get to meet Oprah.
Remember the bigf hoopla during the presidential campaign perioid? when Palin was so incredibly offended that Oprah refused to interview her? Don't you remember the many times Palin and her allies mentioned that little 'rebuff''? It became clear then that Palin's ultimate goal was to get on Oprah, but since Oprah had some policy about not interviewing politicians or something like that (can't quite remember the exact 'policy'). One Palin got sent back home, she began her plan on how to get on Oprah. FIrst, get somebody to make a book for her, then resign the governorship--and then sit and wait for that day when Oprah finally calls!
Her dreams have come true! yay!!! I am so happy for her! No can she please disapear?

Sarah Palin, probably doesn't even know what is even in the book. It would be funny if Oprah goes to some random page, and ask Sarah some questions...LOL!!

Yes, I agree with most of the posts here. There's something wrong with Oprah - she doesn't know what she's doing. This was a disastrous and perplexing career move, and there is going to be absolutely no interest in this interview, whatsoever.

There was a time when getting an interview with the previously unknown female candidate, running for the 2nd highest office in the land made sense, in order to expose her views, history and experience to the American people. And it would have been welcomed by many.

But NOW, with Oprah's emphasis on, and interest in education, literacy, authenticity; and her "Angel Network"-type approach to helping people in need, having this woman on her show is an affront to the American people.

Oprah is not my favorite person, but I do admire and respect some of the things she does, and the commitment she seems to have made to making the world a better place because she's been in it. All of her choices might not have been mine, but I respect the fact that she took action and MADE choices to not only better her own life, but to help others.

I once took note, and was willing to listen to what Sarah MIGHT have had to offer, COULD have represented. But she was a fraud, and was too self-absorbed and oblivious to her own unpreparedness, and lack of qualification to be able to effectively realize any of what her Party (and those Americans who value a robust and effective two-party system) had hoped for.

I know that Oprah will make the best of the interview, but I resent Sarah being given the platform; long after she's proven that she doesn't deserve our time, sympathies or $9.

Note to Oprah: Count me as one of the many who WILL NOT be watching your show on the Sarah interview day.

By choosing to interview Palin, you legitamize who and what Palin is.

She's a quitter. Please don't refer to her as Governor Palin, she quit half way through her term. She quit to help Alaska, what has she done to help Alaska? Write this book?

Palin doesn't do research on issues but spews forth hate at every opportunity. She's prone to untruths.

Palin avoids questions that are important. She chooses to answer them via Twitter & Facebook. Then doesn't even support the answers with facts.

Seriously, How good can the ghost-written book be? It's already been discounted down to $9.00 from $30.00.

Palin's record is to have the questions before hand, don't fork them over.

Palin quits on interviews and appearances. Palin might follow her previous examples and cancel this appearance, too. You might want to have backups. My suggestions are below.

Suggestion: Shannyn Moore, a popular radio personality from Alaska or the author of the blog, Mudflats by an Alaskan citizen would make excellent guests to bring on the the same show with Palin. I'm sure their questions of Palin would be interesting and I would turn in for that interview.

The only interviews that I care to watch of Palin were her interviews with Charlie Gibson & Katie Couric. Both of those interviews spotlit exactly why Sarah Palin was a scary choice as a VP.

I agree...........it's one thing to want to interview Palin when she was running for VP...........it's quite another to give her a voice, after she quit her job as governor..........only to cash in.........AND in so doing aide her in her quest for cash.

Palin is nothing more than a ...........tin cup grifter................out for all she can get her money grubbing hands on.

Palin has all her ducks lined up in a row.......one internet site where you can:

Give to SarahPac

Give to the Alaska Fund Trust.......even though she has been informed by the law not to accept money and return what she has taken.

Buy her "book"

Give to her new endeavor.........Stand UP for our Nation

Stand up for our Nation will be launched the same day as her "book"

It has no purpose other than to collect $$$ for the tin cup grifter.........

Oprah is not ONLY helping her promote her book ......she is helping her launch the biggest tin cup project so far.........

Disgusting!

Can Sarah write?

I think there should be a boycott of the show for that day. I want the news the next day to say Oprah's Interview with Palin cost her a significant amount of viewers.

I'll be sending out an e-mail to all my friends and family "NOT" to watch the show on that day and for them to pass the e-mail along.

Maybe Oprah will read some from the book. Sure Palin hasn't a clue what's in it.

I hope Oprah tears into this backwoods hick. After Palin turned Oprah down for an interview during the last election, I never thought Oprah would try again. But I guess Sarah Plain and Stupid will do anyting for her five word long novel and really is that stupid to go against Oprah.

Expect a major Palin FAIL!
09:14 AM on 10/22/2009
I predict Oprah will be very nice to her. Some people didn't like Oprah throwing all her influence behind O*b*am-a, so now Oprah is just trying to be fair & balanced.
07:23 AM on 10/22/2009
If Oprah even happens to ask Palin anything other than softball questions, she won't get any truthful answers.

Palin lies so much that she has to get someone else to call her dogs for her.
07:10 AM on 10/22/2009
Disappointed in Oprah as usual - she doesn't use her bully pulpit to discuss the most import social issue of the day - Health Care but she gives this illiterate provocateur from the back woods a forum to sell books and continue to divide the Nation. IMABOUTFAIL

Actually Oprah had Michael Moore on twice last year & strongly endorsed his movie SICKO both times. But her top priority must be getting ratings since the Oprah show is a commercial business not a public service.
