Strange Sleepers: Artist Puts Mannequins In Compromising Positions (PHOTOS)

Artist Mark Jenkins did an installation in Winston-Salem, North Carolina of mannequins in odd positions. Some were sleeping (see below), some were diving head first into fountains and trash bags, and others seemed to meet sadder fates. For more from Mark, check out his site.

I like a lot of it. I'm not so fond of the ones that look like actual people in trouble. There's enough of that in reality.

I like these works in theory, but in practice this can cause problems.

Note for example the recent tragic event in which a man who had committed suicide on his apartment patio in Marina Del Rey was there for days because people thought it was a Halloween prop.
