What's Your Reaction?
Obama

The New York Times:

The Wall Street giants that received a financial lifeline from Washington may have no compunction about paying big bonuses to their dealmakers and traders. But their willingness to deliver "thank you" gifts to President Obama and the Democrats is another question altogether.

I hope you realize that is Larry Summers, Timothy Geithner and Ben Bernanke, all disciples of Alan Greenspan and Robert Rubin, standing behind Obama when he explains his moves.
No way they'll get to him.
pity.

This article is disgusting. The Washington Politicians are corrupt and owned by Wall Street. The Washington Journalists who cover them are corrupt, owned by the corporate media (that's one with Wall Street) and too incompetent to connect the dots. This article reads like stenography. Not one dissenting word about the collusion of Wall Street and Washington and the revolving door between the two.

Publicly financed elections and term limits would root out these parasites.

They don't give enough to help dems win, they give just enough to sully their credibility. More checkers by Obama.

The people on here bashing President Obama are idiot's. This man raises 3 million dollars plus per event. Right about now Wall Street is the main people who have that kind of money to throw around. His agenda is why he did not take money from the special interest groups.

They know politics, and they all like photo ops, so they all pay to play.
The President, regardless of what is going on around him will continue to push his agenda.

No one own this President. If they did, things would be a whole lot different. Think the past 8 years. He take their money, smile, and stay on message going forward. If they did not like or respect him or his administration, he would not be able to raise 3 million plus per event. So all the naysayers can go back to whatever site they came from to bash. It's not working.

The Stock Market hits 10,000 while unemployment is about to hit 10%. You need to stop drinking that kool-aide and look at what's in front of your face.

Mr. Obama, you were set up nicely by your wall street buddies. Come the next elections the democrats are going to pay a heavy price in the polls and of course they can attribute that to their own ignorance in how they represented the people they disappointed.

Welp, this may only be a small step and $30 grand ain't exactly a fortune to some, but I'm glad to see Wall Street step up to the plate and help Main Street. I alway thought that without a strong Main Street that Wall Street's days were numbered.

The same reason why he kisses the butts of Grassley, Snowe or any other Republican that opposes him, he has a need for everyone to like him. I must admit that it drives me nuts.

Obama will try to appease Wall Street with watered down regulations and they will say thank you by making a courtesy donation to the DNC while loading up the RNC will donations.

You have seen this happen time and time again.

And yet Wall Street votes Republican.
A friend of mine used to work at Murrell and claimed to be the sole Democrat - even as everything crashed around them, they still loved Bush.

Wall street s/b donating nothing to the President or anyone else - no business or corporate related entity should be allowed to donate or lobby any person in government from the President down to assistants, secretaries, or clerks. This country is supposed to be by the people and for the people. Let's get back to some decency in government. Let's do it the way the founding fathers intended and let's start working on some laws to get rid of lobbyists, just as we were promised.

I copied this info from a comment elsewhere by a poster:

As Michael Moore points out, Goldman was the number one source of funding for the Obama 2008 presidential campaign.

In October of last year, a Goldman Sachs Vice President, Neel Kashkari, was named by former Goldman CEO and then-Treasury Secretary Pauslon to oversee the$700 billion TARP bailout.

This past January, Tim Geithner hired a former Goldman Sachs lobbyist, Mark Patterson, to be his top aide and Chief of Staff.

In March, President Obama nominated Goldman Sachs executive Gary Gensler to head the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, which regulates futures markets, even though (or "because") Gensler confessed to lax regulation during the Clinton administration over the very derivative instruments that caused the financial crisis.

In April, Goldman hired as its top lobbyist Michael Paese, the top aide to Rep. Barney Frank on the House Financial Services Committee which Frank chairs.

According to ABC News, in October, 2008, Goldman "spent more than $43 million dollars on lobbying and campaign contributions to cultivate friends and buy influence in Washington, D.C. since 1989" and their "bankers have been the country's top political campaign contributors this year."

The bailout of AIG -- which resulted in massive federal government monies to Goldman -- was engineered at a meeting between Paulson, Geithner and Goldman CEO Blankfein.

Last year, Goldman paid top Obama economics adviser Larry Summers $135,000 for a one-day visit to Goldman.

Kind of proves President Obama believes in both Capitalism AND Social Policies, doesn't it?
He has the Right yelling he's a Socialist and the Left yelling he's supporting the Capitalists.

Seems the President understands a healthy Democracy needs both...to thrive.

BALANCE
