The Raw Story:

A months-long review of documents and interviews with Pentagon personnel has revealed that the Bush Administration's military analyst program -- aimed at selling the Iraq war to the American people -- operated through a secretive collaboration between the Defense Department's press and community relations offices.

Raw Story has also uncovered evidence that directly ties the activities undertaken in the military analyst program to an official US military document's definition of psychological operations -- propaganda that is only supposed to be directed toward foreign audiences.

Junior averaged just over $800M a year over 8 years - some $6.4 BILLION dollars - for propaganda.

This is nothing new, folks, and the data was there for us to find, but the MSM didn't bother to point it out to us, of course.

...stop refering to these monsters as "The Defence Department".
They are institutionalized War Mongers, plain and simple.
Profits from accusition and intimidation, murder and destruction
are not only monitary but measured as advancement up the chain of comand.

The Bush Administration managed to contort the Constitution every which way.

We have spent zillions at the Pentagon.

The Pentagon the building was designed to become a book repository after WWII.

This may not be news to most people on this site, as is Eisenhower's farewell speech. It is, however, a big hairy deal. When the military is propagandizing the population to maintain a military posture, then we have essentially lost civilian control of the generals.

I don't want to be ruled by a junta.

The real question is How many of us didn't fall for it?

People are starting to catch on to the goverments deceptive practices along with mainstream media's collusion, it's getting rather blatant. Guess this is the reason why newsprint outlets are fading away.

Whether this is a common practice of not, we need to put a top to this. The Pentagon has no business taking any kind of action, propaganda or not, against the American public.

President Obama needs to go through the sections of the Pentagon that managed this operation, and he needs to clean house. A few generals and colonels reduced back to their permanent enlisted ranks would be a good start. Bad conduct discharges would be another alternative.

As someone wrote--of course they do!

Perhaps the biggest and longest running psy-ops has been the discrediting of UFO reports through disinfromation and manipulation of the media since the early 50's. Primary documents strongly imply a disinformation campaign, and many texts written by involved personnel in the 1950s directly state that UFOs/UFO reports were to be marginalized, mocked, explained away (swamp gas, birds, Venus sundogs, inversions...) out of hand.
This policy continues today.

What has been of great concern to me is the apparent intention to fight wars perpetually, and the conditioning of society to accept this. Fundamentally, it is not economically feasible as the US is currently constituted, but that, of course, could change.
There will always be terrorists, bad people, and outright meanies in the world. Why the American people have to field armies to fight these relatively ill-equipped small groups at a STAGGERING cost has not yet been explained in rational terms. Of course, you could say that we are forced to do it to provide money to a small group of corporations, but that would be CYNICAL.

Anyhow, when a government wages war against its own people, I think you have to ask some basic questions....

Why is this considered news? Of course that was the program. If Americans will buy toilet cleaner because some cartoon character sings in the toilet bowl, they'll buy into hidden WMD because they have a grainy photo.

wow, so jaded, so why the heck are we over there?

Oh yeah, we're all idiots. So even if this isn't news to you, we all need this repeated every day until it sinks in. Young American soldiers are dying because we didn't use our brains and let our televisions do the thinking for us. This should be a valuable lesson. Not for me because I'm cynical as he11.

The hand that feeds you is the hand that holds you down.

And yes. I stole that from Everclear.

Don't be flippant. I was in a failed war because it was expedient to the economic powers. I watched men die and never knew exactly why. We are doing it to our kids again. Then it took durn near a decade for people to wise up and see that they were sold a bill of goods. Now it's taken almost that long.

We were sold a bill of goods and anyone who had sense enought to come in out of the rain knew it. Bush was going into Iraq and knew he was the day he took office. Everything after that was fate and salesmanship.

No kidding. This is not news.

No! Our government would never do such a thing! We would have know about this if it were real. Th-th-the news,..... they surely would have said something. LOL!

I remember I used to get a bunch of tinhat insults talking about this years ago. Here's a little tip for all the legitimacy theorists out there. Conspiracy takes place all the time. So please show more respect in the future for those who theorize in the name of raising early awareness so these jokers can't get away this this BS anymore. Thanks.
