I've got a pair of their hunting boots that was purchased some time in the 70s. They resoled them once. They're as comfortable as bedroom slippers and I can walk through a creek and not get my socks damp.

Dang it!
Last year we moved and I finally threw away my c.1980 Blucher mocs...I had left them wet in the garage after doing yard work and the leather had gotten moldy.Over those 25 +years I'd only replaced the laces twice!

As a lifelong Mainer, I think this is hilarious (talking to you, beret woman)--e.g, quaint stereotype, overblown. The guy in the tight Norwegian fisherman's sweater with his twee drink and rugged yet studious glasses...ah. I needed that smile today.

I too am a life long Mainer. My family however originates from Manhatten, where I've come to find the past two winter season trends in NYC are topped off by "Mainer Style"
