Britain Terrorism Arrests

A man leapt from the dock of a court and escaped custody just minutes after being convicted of rape, police said today.

Byron Toner, 26, had been found guilty of repeatedly assaulting a 19-year-old woman during a five-hour attack.

His two-week trial at Liverpool Crown Court was told he left his victim with 58 injuries, including a broken jaw.

Toner, of Culme Road, West Derby, Liverpool, was remanded in custody by Judge Adrian Lyon following the guilty verdict yesterday afternoon.

But as a security guard stood to escort him to the cells, Toner jumped out of the dock and ran out of the third-floor courtroom.

Even in England, their policemen are incompetent.

They are all named Bobby. When the judge ordered them to "seize that man" they didn't know who he was addressing.

Geez, not too bright in the UK, are they. This could have EASILY been prevented by simply having locking doors to the courtroom, that require a code or key (as in from a guard or bailiff) to open, once court is in session. And no open unbarred windows, duh!

They 'outsourced' court security, and there has been a number of very high profile escapes. Everything in the UK is to be 'opened to competition'.

And the unarmed British police shouted out, at the top of their lungs, "Stop, or I'll yell stop again!"

You haven't been to Britain lately, have you?

I can't speak for court security, but I never saw more armed guards in my life in one place than what I saw in London after the bombings in 2005.

The everyday plod is still unarmed, even in the courts, that's why it's easy to run away from them.

On the other hand,
if you saw a man running accross the border,
away from Utah,
could anyone blame him ?
Maybe this English guy is actually running to Utah,
to be a cop or the new attorney general.
Nuff said.

Wow! At least when someone is in our courts there is someone there with guns and they have to somehow get past multiple guards/baliffs and those there for other court cases with the police. When guilty parties do escape they have better odds while being transported not while still in the courtroom. Guess the UK doesn't have all we have to keep the bad "guys" in custody. Hope they find this evil guy fast.

and even with all of that it has happened in the US on many occasions. There was a guy (Brian Nichols) in Atlanta a few years that actually took a bailiffs gun and killed the bailiff, the judge and a few others before escaping from the jailhouse. He wounded up kidnapping a woman and escaping to her house where she claims to have talked him into turning himself in afterwards.

Here is the story :

Or how about the case in Miami

People still escape from the courts here. Some guy put a suit on, said he was a lawyer and walked out of some court here a few weeks ago.
