Italy has only done 3% of what Prime Minister Berlusconi personally and nationally promised to Africa in 2005. So it is quite proper to ask -- what legitimacy does Italy have to run the G8 this year?

Wow! I see a chance for a free trip to Italy!! With a nice Polizia escort. All I have to do is post a threat on my Facebook page??
I'm in!!
Let me explain something to you -- I know you are joking but Italy is not the the USA and I promise you that some of if not the majority of the prisons there are a few hundred years young as in all EU states... Additionally in Europe if you threaten a public official there is no debate, no '2nd Amendment' protection. You either are in prison immediately sometimes without trials - or worse as would be the case of threatening the 'don' Berlusconi. Copisci? Just a word to the wise in Europe Union protest all you want but if you impugned an elected official you forfeit your rights to freedom - no debate. Read up on it.

Grazie.
I was indeed making a cheap joke. I have traveled in Italy, love the place, but did learn while I was there that legal things are different.
Berlusconi is a villain, as far as I am concerned, but obviously enough Italians tolerate him so that he remains in office.
