Paul Mccartney

LONDON — Paul McCartney will return to Hamburg, where The Beatles honed their craft, to launch his first European tour in five years.

McCartney announced Thursday he will play the German city on Dec. 2 to kick off the "Good Evening Europe" tour.

The former Beatle also plans shows in Berlin, the Dutch city of Arnhem, Paris, Cologne and Dublin. The seven-date tour ends at London's O2 Arena on Dec. 22.

The tour follows a string of North American dates earlier this year.

The 67-year-old McCartney plans to release a live album from the U.S. tour, "Good Evening New York City."

How long will I have to live to have a few precious moments without hearing or reading the name Paul McCartney? God love him, but I am sick to death of him and anything else with the smell of Beatles on it. I know I sound bitter, but isn't it someone else's turn?

so he won't be back in the US, back in the US, back in the USSR?

I agree with others here. Paul's shows truly rock. Age definitely does not matter. There is no reason to expect that these shows will be any less than the past tours. Rev. Bookburn - Radio Volta

McCartney's concerts are thrilling. It's the closest we'll ever come to seeing the Beatles in their prime; no one else can do that. We love you, Sir Paul.

How can you get that many Whell chairs in one spot to make it profitable...........................go home old man

As long as people buy tickets, that's how you tour. I notice several older acts have backup singers and electronic effects to help out if needed in putting on a show.

Saw Macca in 1992 when Linda was still behind the keyboard, and it meant a lot to see them together onstage...one of rock's sweetest love stories.

McCartney tours with four other guys, that's it. No backup singers, no electronic taped effects. Usually 35 songs or so, a 2 1/2 hour concert, and always AMAZING.

I saw him 5 times between the 80's and 2009 and he got better. But it's not that the first time he was bad, at all. He just got better, tighter.

On You tube you can see George Harrison play 'Cheer Down' live in Japan with Clapton backing. There you can see how great he was,........Lennon can be found playing with Eric on a Rolling Stones event great too.

These guys really were absolutely GREAT!

If McCartney's having fun doing It, people like it and pay him,....the nay sayers are just that.

If you've never seen a Beatle live I highly recommend attending a Macca concert. He puts on a great show and it's a part of history. Go -- if for no other reason, out of respect for one of the greatest musical minds the planet has ever known. He still sounds amazing but how much longer can a "pushing 70" year old voice hold up?

I think Paul McCartney will be in his Prime for many years to come! He's no Sinatra. As for pushing 70. So what? I saw Dave Brubek live and Tony Bennett live twice! And Blossom Dearie. And Ahmad Jahmal. How about 80? And all incredible performances. Tony Bennett still sing acapella. Gives you goosebumps!
