Rainn Wilson's Guide To Halloween Pranks (VIDEO)

First Posted: 03/18/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 03:25 PM ET

Rainn Wilson is a rascally man. We didn't know how much so until last night when he showed us how he uses packaged foods and drug-store staples to prank his neighbors on Halloween. Fortunately for Weird Al, that bologna is safer on your house than in your stomach.

For all the food wasting commenters, I would suggest staying away from just about any programming you might watch on any given TV show, stop buying products from any stores you might shop and and plan on a life of living off the land you sow. The amount of resources wasted on any number of given media outlets for any number of different programming is ten fold compared to a couple of packets of ramen and taco shells.

Oh, and I would suggest living in a smaller house and turning down your heater... Do you have any idea the amount of electricity you are wasting right now while millions of other's do without?

Cheers!

He would have done better by donating the food and the paper goods. I like Rainn Wilson, but there's really nothing funny about wasting food when there are people starving across the country, food banks that could use the plastic utensils, and free (or low cost) clinics that could use cotton swab donations.

Lighten up when people aren't hungry......meanwhile, it's not so funny.

How is wasting food any different from wasting any other consumable product? The hungry are hungry not because of a lack of available food, but because they don't have money with which to purchase it. So any stunt that wastes products of a value equal to this food is denying just as many people full bellies. Please.

I hate to be a killjoy, especially since I'm always game for absurdist humor, but wasting copious amounts of food for a comedy skit while many people are starving and going hungry is very un-funny. Rainn Wilson is flogging his "Office" persona, leaving it devoid of cleverness and laughs. And may I add that Weird Al looks like Eric Idle on steroids (without the comedic talent).

First, this was nothing at all like Rainn's 'Dwight' persona from the Office. Not even a little. Second, steroids!?!? Methinks you're taking his role as 'Uncle Muscles' a wee bit too literal.

I hope this doesn't catch on, because it makes me sad to see so much food going to waste. We have starving people in other country, but in America we use throw away food for enjoyments.

Please stick with recyclable TP.

The "food" he used isn't stuff that anybody should eat. The forks made me laugh so hard I cried!

there comes a certain age in a man's life where pranks are just pathetic.
09:44 PM on 10/23/2009
That age is after you reach room temperature, it is always appropriate to make people laugh.

When the video won't play on Firefox with ad blocker, I know it's from NBC. Why bother switching to IE to watch anything from NBC? If I wanted to watch broadcast television, I'd buy a TV.

He actually is a good soul. :)

And I'm kind of surprised by the grousing around here about wasting food. Baloney is food? ;) I thought it was conservatives who didn't have a sense of humor...

Yes, baloney is food, so are Cheerios, so are eggs. People EAT these things when they are hungry. I'm sure a starving person would not shun baloney (a food product that's been around for decades now) because you think you're too good to eat it.

Only in the US would wasting food be "funny"!
I'll tell you what's funny, watching an American
homeless family on food stamps watching this show.
Now that's funny. As in sick. Like this country.

Well, I happen to know, in case you're interested, that Rainn Wilson is very generous with his time and money for various causes, including one that helps women seek asylum in this country to protect them against gender-based violence. He's really a great guy.

Better keep the homeless away from TV period, then. Don't let them see a food fight on TV. Or anything on the food network about eating those gigantic burgers. Or....
