Another non-scientific website putting out the rightwing political line on global warming. Read the site carefully and you will see misleading statements. Absurdities about loving CO2 as an important trace gas, thereby ignoring over two hundred years of scientific research in the field of
radiative physics. Of cours CO2 is an important gas, it is just that an excess of it cause the atmosphere to heat up with catastrophic results.

This bogus report from the Competitive Enterprise Institute is another bugus pseudo-science report from a rightwing think tank. It does not reflect the current science of global warming in any sense of the word whatsoever.

Why is it that nobody will accept that global climate change science is incomplete and uncertain...no science, no matter who is funding the study, can predict exactly how the greenhouse effect will change earth 10's or 100's of years from now. If both sides can accept that fact, it might be possible to work toward a real resolution to this conflict rather than continually exchanging of scientific arguments used as weapons.

Where were all the hurricanes this year? CO2 is up, hurricanes are down. Temp is down?

There were some nasty ones in the Pacific, you can't just look at the South Atlantic. However, nobody said that there would be a steady and consistant rise in the number of hurricanes because of global warming. You don't prove or disprove global warming on the basis of how many hurricanes or typhoons there are in a given year.

Keeping our enviroment clean is always a good idea, but stop trying to tell me that it will make any difference in the climate, because it won't. It will only effect the quality of the air, water and food we consume.

The temperature of the planet hasn't gone up since 1998 and it seems to be getting cooler the last few years. Meanwhile the levels of Co2 have continued to go up during those 11 years. "Global warming" or "climate change" or whatever the greenies are calling it this week is nothing more than an excuse for governments to raise taxes, impose regulations and take away more of our freedom under the guise of "saving the planet".

Get over yourselves Libs, you can't change or control the climate, just adapt and buy a warmer coat for the upcoming global cooling.

The day to day weather in any region does not prove or disprove the realities of climate change, but the issues that must be addressed when trying to tackle climate change are necessary for the survival of our species. Regardless of whether you believe the earths climate is changing, you cannot dispute that oil and other fossil fuels are a limited resource and alternatives must be found. The constant bickering between fools on both "sides" of this issue are the main problem.

The scientific debate is over. It is doctrine in the global warming religion. All scientific theories and data must support this doctrine. New data that does not support this doctrine will be considered blasphemy.

The scientific debate is far from over. As you can see from this blog alone, it is still a polarizing issue. What "doctrine" are you referring to?

I still dont understand what deniers are trying to prove...

Are you trying to say that "The Greenhouse Effect" doesn't exist or is it that we can't ever do anything to change our climate?

What happens when you build a house?

Suppose you keep cutting a local forest ..clearing the land and building houses?

The trees are gone and are no longer breathing in Carbon Dioxide and Breathing out Oxygen.
The whole area "warms". The local wildlife is gone.

That's not a change?

This is the BIGGEST SCAM. On Saturday, from Asia to Europe via the Middle East, activists staged lively events addressing world leaders and to mark 50 days before the UN climate summit. Many waved placards bearing the logo 350, referring to 350 parts per million (ppm) of CO2 in the atmosphere which scientists say must not be exceeded to avoid runaway global warming.

Problem: The oceans are releasing tens of millions of tons of CO2 each year and that is increasing, so HOW can people create a LINEAR measure arbitrarily about something they don't understand, that is NOT INDEPENDENT of other processes which produce more CO2 than humans? It's a bunch of Al Gore crap that is NOT SCIENTIFIC .... and all the minions and illiterate people climb on board. Dumb.

If enough snow falls in one region it can turn into glacial ice. The glacial ice in
Antarctica has been accumulating for several hundred thousand years. Geologists drill
into the ice and analyze the composition of the material that makes up the ice –
carbon dioxide is one of the components. The Vostok ice core of Antarctica has a
provided a very reliable and long record of carbon dioxide concentrations for hundreds
of thousands of years. The samples of air that we use are preserved in ice. As the ice builds up, it traps gases of that era/age. So the deeper you go into the ice, the older the air sample trapped in. Taking the ratio of CO2 in the air sample gives an indication of the amount of CO2 in the air of that era/age. This can then be correlated to other sources.

The problem you posed proves you have no idea what you're talking about and very little comprehension of basic scientific data collection. That's just being reasonable.

The most interesting thing from those ice cores is the fact that CO2 rises on average 800 years after a rise in temperature.

You are completely incorrect. Scientists can easily demonstrate where the CO2 in the atmosphere comes from. The CO2 caused by the burning of fossil fuels has different ratios of the C12 and C13. I won't bore you with the details but if you are interested here is a link to a good article on this subject: http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2004/12/how-do-we-know-that-recent-cosub2sub-increases-are-due-to-human-activities-updated/
