Scott Weiland

nypost.com:

Mary Forsberg Weiland and her husband, Stone Temples Pilot frontman Scott Weiland, were so addicted to heroin they showed up to a Fourth of July party at the Malibu home of Leonardo DiCaprio wearing long sleeves -- just to hide the track marks.

So writes the former model -- now drug-free -- in her new memoir, "Fall to Pieces: A Memoir of Drugs, Rock 'n' Roll, and Mental Illness."

Lets pause for a moment to consider Mary Weiland Forsberg's intentions as the NYP didn't mention an important detail... Mary is working to become a drug and alcohol councilor. This bears much more credibility to her direction and maybe the book will spread a message of hope to those who suffer addiction.
I first wrote this work off, but learning of the above details put a different light on Mary's book.

what kind of person underestimates the power of drugs? Do they actually think they could have fun and not get addicted and destroy themselves? Hope these two didn't have any children together. Its hard enough raising kids (without messing them up) as it is much less high on drugs.

There's a reason that people do opiates. Viewing drug use as some strange, alien, vampire-like curse ("Ewwww, drugs! Gross!") is a convenient way to dismiss it, to remain distant from its reality, and to ensure that users will continue to be treated like criminals.

You have obviously never been to any big city.

Drugs are a scourge on our society. They affect EVERYONE from the very rich, to the very smart...

They affect people at the VERY TOP down to the VERY BOTTOM of society. Homeless people and billionaires (and their kids) are addicted to the same type of crack. And RUTHLESS evil people are behind it -- like the Chinese/Mexican dude who was just found with $205 million worth of cash stashed inside his Mexico City house.

$205,000,000.00. From selling meth.

END THE WAR ON DRUGS NOW! Mexico and America need to get together and stop the madness once and for all.

Have you ever met anyone that can run the 100 yard dash in under 10 seconds?

Have you ever met anyone that can write with both hands at the same time?

Have you ever met anyone that can hold their breath for 10 minutes?

Have you ever met anyone that's climbed Mt. Everest?

I guess you're in the camp that believes if they weren't there to hear it, a tree falling in the forest doesn't make a sound. Do you consider that particularly intelligent?

Most we print every two-bit juvenile personality disorder's drug habits and confessions for publicity?

I'm sorry, but how exactly are people supposed to benefit from this other than chisme? Exactly what fraction of the population fits this demographic? Is this to help all ex-model rockstar wives in a co-dependent heroin-addicted marriage? No, this book is rather embarrassing by airing out their dirty laundry so she can make an easy buck now that she isn't married to her rockstar ex. How else can she afford the luxurious lifestyle other than selling out what little integrity she has left?

Why do people do drugs? Are their lives so boring that they have to turn to drugs to have any sort of definable fun? When people drink or do drugs to have fun, that tells me that they have a very serious problem. And when people do it in order to have a life, that tells me they have no life.

Personally I agree.
Yet Americans have a culture of substance abuse- be it drugs or alcohol or nicotine or caffeine. Most americans do drugs....

A great variety of animals use "drugs" to achieve a non-normal state of mind.

Certain lemurs lick the poison from a particular millipede and "trip." Many mammals eat fermented fruit. Monkeys will steal your cocktail. Some porcupines get off on ant venom. Cats love catnip.

All of these animals have "lives" and are mostly devoid of human-specific mental maladies regarding sense of self and have no "problems." Monkeys don't go for rotten fruit because they can't pay their bills. Cats don't hit the nip because their cat girlfriend is cheating on them with the Tom at the other end of the alley.

Why ppl do drugs depends on the person & I guess the drug. Some do it to become normal - as weird as that may seem. I haven't because I think I'm abnormal enough as it is - I definetly do not need to be any more crazier than I am! But why someone would write a book about it and then hawk it to the public on a campaign tour - well, it just doesn't seem wholly altruistic nor beneficial to the family. I don't understand why she can't see that. Perhaps she just wants to stay relevent?

Why don't these people work harder on becoming better singers? They have the opportunity to create music 24 hours a day and they waste it all. So lame.

Not all of it is waste. Look at the Jazz history, some heavy users were producing the best of the best.
And no, I personally don't do any drugs, OK, caffeine, but that's all.

I'm so tired of these fake nobodies and their tales of drug use. Do they honestly think anyone cares what losers they are. I wish more of them would simply end themselves and skip the tell all books because the genre has gotten old. Self destruction does not equal entertainment.
