I wouldn't call it "showing off." It looks to me that she's just walking across the street minding her own business when a Pap snaps a picture of her.

Why did it start in the first place? It's a stupid turn of phrase.
I think the paps started it with the famous, if they didn't know for sure if the actress was pregnant or not. Does she show a bump? Is she preggers? It was usually said when they were barely showing, not like this model who is obviously very pregnant!!
I feel kinda bad for her. The pressure she must be under, because of who she is and what she does for a living, to remain skinny must be hard, especially when one has cravings. I bet she is watching every bite she puts in her mouth. That would totally stink. I remember fondly being pg with my 3 kids and loving every minute of eating everything in site and not caring such as my late night Taco Bell runs, Slim Jims and peperoni by lbs, and tons of angel hair pasta with pesto sauce. Granted, I gained 50lbs with each of them and losing that weight after each child was very difficult, but I did it.
Then again, she's probably used to eating to remain thin so it's no big deal to her.
I actually don't think she's undernourished. There is such a thing as 'naturally thin'. I remember reading a quote from Heidi Klum after her second or third as to what she did to loose the weight, and she said 'Look at the woman before the pregnancy and that is what you'll see after." My mother was that way, but my sister, who was getting plumper and plumper even before the pregnancy ballooned to about 50lbs above her normal weight. It's actually healthier to NOT gain too much wight. So, it's just a question of what you want to put up with. You can use your pregnancy to gorge yourself on the wrong foods, or you can treat it like a healthy experience, eat lots of fruits and vegetables - satisfying your cravings but not gorging. I personally would choose the second.
Hopefully Tom wont leave her once the baby is born.

just like tom brady and the patriots are cheating in the nfl, giselle is lucky enough to be cheating mother nature. however, i wish her well. let's just hope their baby doesn't go after precious brady's knees in any parent/child romping. would hate for the refs to call a penalty on *that*.

I have to agree with others, the phrase "baby bump" is way past it's due date.
Sounds so much more like an affectation and immature at that.
On the other hand she is a good looking mom to be.
She is all baby and looks really good. I hope she has a happy and healthy pregnancy and baby.
I hope shes happy, she is use to being so skinny and doing whatever she wants, I hope she is just enjoying her pregnancy.
What is it that I hate so much about that phrase, "shows off her baby bump?" is it the use of the word "bump" -- so diminutive and dismissive ? Or is it the use of the phrase "shows off," as if the person had conceived and was carrying the child simply for public display? I don't know. It just bugs the h-ll out of me.
Interesting. Sarah Palin at 7 months had much tighter abs than a much younger model since she didn't show at all at the same time in her fifth pregnancy.
Palingates has a photo comparison today of Giselle, this very photo and Palin, same month but Palin is hiding that baby somewhere other than the usual place i guess.
