Ivanka Trump Jared Kushner Wedding

Ivanka Trump married New York Observer owner Jared Kushner Sunday in a private Orthodox Jewish ceremony at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ.

The bride, 27, wore a Vera Wang gown inspired by Grace Kelly. Guests included Regis Philbin, Barbara Walters, Rupert & Wendi Murdoch, Jeff Zucker, Rudy Giuliani, Russell Crowe, Natalie Portman, Emmy Rossum, and Andrew Cuomo.

People magazine called the affair a "lavish ceremony" with 500 guests.

People reports that Donald Trump gave a simple toast: "Be happy and enjoy your life."

Barbara Walters discussed the wedding Monday morning on "The View," calling it "absolutely gorgeous" but not "glitzy" and adding that Donald was "very low-key." Walters noted that the two young Murdoch girls, Grace and Chloe, were "little bridesmaids."

Walters also showed the invitation, which was in English on one side and Hebrew on the other.

Trump converted to Judaism to marry Kushner, 28, whose family is Orthodox Jewish. Read about that decision here.

can't help but think this is some how a phony pairing - that guy is strangly old looking and has old man jobs at such a young age, I guess this is one of those stories that gets on because they paid to have it put on.....

Many of the people on this post are jealous - and who could blame them. This couple seems to have it all - looks, money, brains.

And many question Ivanka's conversion. I don't think anyone has to explain why they convert to another religion.

Ultimately, they will have to work on their marriage just like any other couple. It might be easier for them because of their wealth (they'll probably never have to worry about money) - but money and fame will bring their own temptations.

For a loving couple, day of their wedding is a day out of time and, if they work on their marriage and create a happy home for themselves and their children, it will be a day they always remember with fondness. I wish them the same thing I would wish for any other couple - a life of joy, happiness and love. I don't think they deserve less.

we are not jelious - that is always a lame way of answering critics... that guy is shockingly odd looking, but your right very rich, there is no way in any interpretation you could call him good looking - he looks 42 - I think the pairing looks a little phony... I get a strange phony vibe from it and big surprise it's comeing from "billionair" trump's camp.......

Rich? Envy? How would you like to have Trump as a father. He seems to be the type of father who would fire you if you didn't generate a million by 21. Sorry daughter, YOU'RE FIRED!

To me, converting my Religion is like converting my political beliefs. They are one in the same. I wouldnt become a Republican or convert to any other religion to get married, so she obviously is not that religious to begin with. I understand people get married with two different belief systems, but I couldnt. I do date interracially, which can bring about challenge in itself, but I do not see how people with two different beliefs can come together. I just don't think they are that deep into their respective religions. Maybe the come together more because they are both rich and into business? Maybe thats the true religion of these two?

Lots of people convert - probably mostly to marry someone of another religion. If they convert ONLY for the wedding and have no feeling for whatever religion they are converting into, it probably won't go well. But if they have feelings for their adopted religion, it could work fine. And being the same religion does help a couple because they no longer have different beliefs and can share this part of their lives.

I don't think you can assume they don't care about their religions - don't know if they do or not -but you can't assume either way.

One thing for sure - they are a very handsome couple and Ivanka is a very beautiful bride. Now, it is up to them to make their marriage work. And since they are hard-working and focused young people, they could do it.

Thank you! I was reamed by another commenter for posting the same sentiment, about how I find it unusual for people to convert something as all-encompassing and self-identifying as a religion. It is quite like switching parties.

I also wondered how religious someone is, vs. their family. If they is ok with someone converting to get married, instead of because they got the calling to convert. A bride or groom doing something their parents want happens all the time, because otherwise, mommy and daddy would throw a fit.

Awwww, so sweet...

Convicted criminal's spoiled son marries crass hype-monger's spoiled daughter. She wanted this badly, jumped through the hoops. But soon she'll be a little older, a little wiser, and a lot less interested in submission. Then it will be time for the sensational divorce proceedings. You'll see.

This says much more about you than anything about this couple.

We don't know anything about them. They are handsome and rich - but that doesn't guarantee them a happy marriage. They have work on that just like all the rest of us.

Being rich will help with anniversary presents though.

Say stated: you understand that happiness isnt about "me", its about someone other than me ....

Well, shouldn't that work BOTH WAYS?! You also mentioned "trade offs." Religion is usually something people feel very strongly about, and should not be placed in the category of trade-offs. As for your other comment, "she can convert to Jud-ism outside and still be in Christ in her heart...that's where it counts anyway...all the outside stuff is just that, stuff !..." That is NOT where it counts, and IF you are Christian, there is NO WAY YOU WILL DENY CHRIST! Having him in your heart - and acting otherwise in public is a hypocrite - you can't have it both ways! The Bible says not to deny him nor be ashamed of him.

I didn't know she got married.
But she is a beautiful, intelligent young woman, and her dress was gorgeous.
Best Wishes...to the happy couple that I don't know.

I always found it interesting that if anyone (Kushner) is sooo religious, that they would be willing to marry someone who takes their own religion so casually that they'd be willing to discard their belief system and jump into a new one, or convert in a jiffy. It's not for love of god that she is converting.

It's her prerogative, but I can't see following a different or new religion that I never previously cared about. This all makes me wonder if he's more scared of his daddy and worried about his inheritance than anything faith-based.

You obviously know nothing about a Jewish conversion. While we cannot know what is in Ivanka's heart, I do know that you cannot 'convert in a jiffy'. It is a long process (usually a year at least) and involves study and commitment.

Did she convert just to marry this young man? Maybe. Is the conversion real to her? Again, only she knows that.

But Judaism offers a rich heritage and a family-oriented and humanistic belief system. I know lots of people how have converted out of faith and are very happy with their choice.

Any conversion that takes place before a wedding is obviously FOR the wedding. It may take up to a year, but if it's done in order to get married to someone, then god is not the main reason. Don't tell me it doesn't happen ALL THE TIME. People convert to various religions in order to marry the more conservative person. I can't imagine every person who converts before getting married, was thinking about converting to that religion years before even meeting that person.

Gee, I thought I was on some sort of respectable website, not the society page of the NYT. Shouldn't this be in style or entertainment rather than media?

Jared Kushner is the publisher of the New York Observer, and thus is a media figure.
