2010 Colorado Personhood Initiative Will Define Life Even Earlier Than 2008 Initiative

Personhood

The Colorado Independent:

A version of the anti-abortion initiative soundly defeated by Colorado voters in 2008 is making its way to the 2010 ballot, this time reworked as an "egg-as-a-person" initiative.

This new version would move the legal definition of a person further back into the reproductive cycle, granting cells the full spectrum of citizen rights. Opposition groups, including Colorado genetic and fertilization researchers, say the law would have spiraling consequences, that it would put women at risk and freeze current work in medicine and reproduction.

Good God! Now they want to make it a crime to have your period!

I just bit off some of my cuticle. Am I murdering my own cells?

Put some poison pill amendments on it, mandatory public healthcare for the newborns and corporate entities are not real persons and do not have the same rights as real persons.

So, if his passes, will eggs have to get Social Security numbers? Or will ovulating women have to wear a colorful arm band?
Good grief!

I say Colorado legislators should add an amendment calling for mandatory video cameras in the bedrooms of all state officeholders and employees and include funding for the sex surveillance police. Random feeds could be projected on the jumbotrons at Coors Field and Mile High Stadium.

I hope it passes. Then the giant sucking sound will be women fleeing Colorado en masse, except for the pure breeders.

There needs to be one state the American Taliban can flock to and get them out of the hair of real Americans.

Too bad it has to be a beautiful state like CO.

Women? You realize that this law would make beating off the equivalent of mass murder?

Then I'm dead man walking.

No, TX still outnumbers CO in crazy American Taliban. I say deport them from CO to TX where they'll be welcomed with open arms (okay except for Austin) and let the happy CO treehuggers like me have our state. I worked too hard to get out of TX to live in the Rockies to give up my state to the nutjobs.

I will happily join the anti-exfoliation movement when it starts. It is about time that someone stood up for those defenseless DNA carrying skin cells.

Every sperm is sacred. Every sperm is great. If a sperm is wasted, God gets quite irate.
