As an AZ resident, I have on more than one occasion had to explain Kyl to my fellow progressives from out of state. Sadly, I must admit, even with benefit of strong adult beverage, the task is quite difficult.

Many in AZ, primarily in Maricopa County, vote for him only because of the (R) and somehow thinking he will, by default, be the next Goldwater. There have been many polls showing they are voting party not person. And, Maricopa County is enough to swing an election.

But look at other stellar lights such as Rep Trent Franks that grace AZ and one can see why the state spins.

To have Kyl deny he said what he said despite tape to show otherwise is not a shock. The fact, that voters in AZ will not care that he is caught either lying or denying, is the real problem.

Senatory Kyl's elderly constituents should be made painfully aware that he "does not support government run healthcare in ANY (my emphasis) form". Perhaps all those seniors should ask him why he opposes them receiving their Medicare checks.
