A person is dead after being struck by a CTA Blue Line train Wednesday.
A CTA spokeswoman confirmed that a person was hit and killed shortly around 1:10 p.m. Wednesday by a south-bound Blue Line train in the Monroe Station. She could not confirm the person's age or gender, but a Fire Department official said the victim was dead on arrival.
A police spokesman did not immediately have details.
Blue Line trains continued running on a single track until 2:40 p.m., when normal service was restored.
