Think Progress:

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) and House Republican Conference Chairman Mike Pence (R-IN) held a press conference today to explain why progressive health reform would hurt seniors and to highlight the GOP's "better solutions." In an email yesterday, Boehner instructed readers to go to the GOP healthcare website "and you can see all of our proposals."

If seniors are looking for someone who is an advocate for them and their health insurance needs, visit http://www.PlanPrescriber.com. If your zip code search does not turn up a Medicare plan you are happy with, their customer service representatives will find one that best meets your needs and budget, even if it isn’t one of the private insurance companies they represent. I was fortunate that a friend recommended PlanPrescriber to me several years back. I was confused about all the various Medicare options and PlanPrescriber was very helpful in explaining everything to me and continues to advocate for my Medicare needs.

Does it keep their dirty gop hands of my medical decisio by creating the public health care option everybody wants?

The Gopers probably figure that if they just ignore senior citizens, they will conveniently d-i-e.

Clicking here will add your name: "Senator Reid, thank you for your leadership on health care reform. We're standing with you in the fight for real health care reform with the choice of a public health insurance option."

Dear MoveOn member,
For months, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has been under intense pressure to drop the public health insurance option.

But on Monday he defied insurance lobbyists, political pundits, and conservatives of both parties by announcing that he'll include a public option in the Senate floor bill.

That's the kind of courageous leadership we need for victory on health care. But the fight's not over yet: Sen. Reid is still under fire from conservatives, including some in his own party, who will stop at nothing to kill the public option.

In this critical moment, we've got to show that thousands of Americans have his back and are fired up to fight alongside him. So we're placing a full-page ad in key newspapers on Capitol Hill and in his home state of Nevada with the names of thousands of Americans thanking Senator Harry Reid for his leadership.

Will you sign the ad? Clicking here will add your name:

The AARP is nothing but an insurance company. I resigned my membership when they supported the "donut hole" pharmacy insurance. but they still send me their ads for their insurance programs (junk mail). A damned waste of trees in my estimation. A real con!

Ask your pharmacist if the GOP Is right for you. Tell your doctor immediately if you have any of these symptoms:

"NO" tourettes
Spinning lies and misinformation
Lack of bipartisanship
Latent hypocrisy
Obstructionism
Dithering
Whining when things don't go their way
Loss of seats in House, Senate and White House
Occasional outbreaks of crocodile tears

If any of these symptoms persist or worsen, notify your your doctor promptly. Side effects include filibuster and NO votes on important legislation.

Notify your doctor promptly if your filibuster lasts for more than 4 hours, as this may indicate a loss of compassion and empathy for those who have no healthcare.

opps! I guess they hate to admit it, PUBLIC OPTION MEDICARE WORKS.
04:53 PM on 10/29/2009
Apparently works really well since they have absolutely no plan to change it in any way. They have no plan to change the VA either, another Government run socialized medical care plan.

taddles, what would you suggest they replace Medicare with? Apparently, you haven't reached the age to receive it. I'm on Medicare and I know it works well along with supplemental insurance. However, if you know someone who is on it, please ask him/her to explain the benefits of Medicare, or better yet, Google it and get informed.

Pence was on the TeeVee this morning crying like a little girl about the "Pelosi Health Care Bill.
Oh it will be awful, just awful. The end of civilization as we know it

The way he was carrying on I figure it must be pretty good. Watch for the Republicans now to all go on and on and on about the dreaded "Pelosi Bill."

To the GOP: You're doing a great job at being tone deaf, please continue to do so, so we can get rid of you. Maybe you'll hear a little better as you clean out your offices.

pence is a real creep.. I can't believe my old district voted him in and an honorable man like Lee Hamilton
(also known for the 9-11 report) was voted out. I worked on Congressman Hamiltons' campaign as a teen and voted for him many times before I moved to a more progressive state. The 9th district of Indiana truly made a dumb mistake going for this ridiculous man. He can't even lie properly. The opposite of progressive is regressive. I hope this is the last term he serves. He needs to be replaced with someone who will actually work for people that don't own coorporations, insurance companies, war profiting companies, etc.

Pence was interviewed on msNBC's Dr. Nancy program this morning bad mouthing the current healthcare proposal and then was asked about his current healthcare coverage. Pence went on to explain the numerous choices of plans and doctors when Dr. Nancy asked him why can't a public plan be designed like the one that covers him and thousands of other federal employees. Pence's hypocritcal answer was absolutely pathetic.

Quite telling is Pence's statement that "we will be proposing ideas" on healthcare and posting them.

"Will be"??? WTH have they been doing during all this debate?

Are they really, really too st_up_id to have known on Nov. 5, 2008 that health care reform would be on the agenda? If they cared about people, they would have worked on it.

Like always, they have nothing. Nothing. No plans, no brains, no empathy.

Null content, baka comment. It's really nice when people actually post on-topic. And if you feel that this does tie into the discussion, you're gonna have to say more than that. If you're not going to, shoo!
