Hillary Clinton

news.aol.com:

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Thursday that Pakistan squandered opportunities over the years to kill or capture leaders of the al-Qaida terrorist network responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks.

While U.S. officials have said they believe Osama bin Laden and senior lieutenants have been hiding in the rugged terrain along the border with Afghanistan, Clinton's unusually blunt comments went further as she suggested that Pakistan's government has done too little to act against al-Qaida's top echelon.

Hillary was the one who told them that the Taliban were on the march to Islamabad and were killing people along the way and maybe they should do something about it. Unbelievably it was OK for the Taliban to slaughter 105 women and children but if we kill those very same taliban we are terrorists. Figures that the Pakistanis want to go back to thier old pasttime of "war with India" but thank god Hillary wont let them. . Keep calling them out and keep them acountable for what we paid them for Hillary. Your doing great! I also think those "students" were plants from the taliban.

An American woman Secretary of State, in particular an American Christian woman, should never subjugate herself in this manner wearing the second class Muslim scarf.

It seems to me if we cannot have our own grown women in government go toe to toe with officials in Muslim countries without her lowering herself to the wishes of Muslim men too juvenile to speak with a woman as she is, as a grown MALE Secretary of State is, then we shouldn't send our Secretary to Islamic nations to "talk" with such spoiled brats.

I can see an Ambassador doing this, but a Secretary of State? Heck no. Never.

There is no rational talking with Muslims who wouldn't talk to an American Secretary of State who is a women and not wearing a scarf.

This problem in Pakistan is India's, Russia's, and Europe's problem, not ours. We are just killing more innocent Muslims and angering their co-coreligionists world-wide.

Get out there.

Whats wrong with trying to bond with a host country by respecting their culture. The Bush administration did everything it could to belittle other cultures to the point of invading their countries and wholesale slaughter of their people. And remember it was God who told him to do it.

I tend to agree with you except in circumstances of visiting religious sites. I noticed on the news tonight that Hillary only wore the scarf at religious sites. So, the picture just doesn't fit the story.

I think that's fine. She is not a Muslim but she is showing respect at Muslim holy sites.

Hillary is teaming up with Palin or she is competing with her to see who is the best ROGUE. I know she does not reflect Obama views on the Middle East. Obama will have to make another tough decision rather to fire Hillary or let her take his administration to the abyss..

How come I have not seen the comment on GWB and company when we were paying Musharraf billions and all he did is nothing, except to have more control and more money, I'm glad the HRC have told the Pakistani the fact, and its up to them to clean there country from the so called Taliban and al -qaida , and you do that by providing jobs, and improving the living condition of your citizens, i have met lots of smart and hard working Pakistani , but you know there is a connection between the mentality of the Taliban and al-qaida and the conservative that we have in the world is fear, and dehumanize others and misinformation . its seem that works. great job HRC, next is the middle east and make sure that you are as tough with abbas and netanyahu

i find seeing the united states secretary of state dressed up for a halloween as a praciticing muslim, a disturbing and unsatisfactory image and one that fails to mirror the constitution of our own united states which separates religion and state.

while it can be argued that such attire, is intended to signal respect for islamic culure, it makes our secretary of state gender identified, in a country that is sexist to the core, as defined by relgious and civil law--often 1 and the same---and fails to uphold ouir own hard won evolving culture, that women should have gender equality in all aspects of public and private life.

to see mrs, clinton defined first as a woman, and only secondly as the secretary of state of the united states, by her submission to islamic dress codes for women, is to suggest that she will not be dealt with, and this country will not be represented as well as by male secretary of state in its deallings with islamic nations.

had secretary of state clinton met with islamic clerics in pakistan, and donned a veil, as she might have to meet the pope, that would signal only a proper respect for the religious figures

to address students publicly and need to adopt attire not in keeping with the normal attire of her high office, makes our own cutlural values look varaiable and ms. clinton look as though she dressed up for a halloween party!

Any terrorism analyst worth their salt for the past 10 years has known that Pakistan has always been the hotspot of a potential nuclear blow-up due to the hardware they possess and the fact that at any and all moments the government there has one foot on the grave, and the other on a banana peel when it comes to being replaced by psychotic fanatics with a dangerous agenda.
Whose fault has that been?
We need only to look to ourselves and our policies of arms and intervention in that whole region of the world (otherwise known as "meddling").

Our presence in Afghanistan is provoking the Taliban to destabilize Pakistan (a nuclear power).

I have nothing against her, but it looks like she's using these opportunities to gain popularity with the American public rather than to actually help the president on his diplomatic mission. I wouldn't be surprised if she challenges him for the Democratic nomination in 2012.

The snide comments about Hillary may or may not be appropriate, but i suspect the reaction of her audience reflects what is really going on in Pakistan: true ambivalence on the part of the Pakistanis to any attempt to truly deal with a problem of importance to us. Lip Service!

Hillary proved by declaring that she was going to "charm" Pakistan that she is out of touch not only with the rest of the world but with her own personal deficits. Hillary is intelligent, hard working and possesses a fund of knowledge but she has always lacked grace, charm and a serious relationship with the truth. She gets in a p*ssing contests with North Korea, displays her fragile ego by getting snarky with a college student because she thought he had inquired about bill, she was a total failure in Russia, and once again failed to recognize that being snarky with college students demeans her position more than it does the college. I wish Obama had chose John Kerry as SOS although I feel that Clinton may have returned to her GOP roots and tried to sabatage the administration agenda by voting NO to everything that needed to be done.

So far, as SOS Clinton has accomplished nothing and when she travels she plays to the U S audience instead of trying to forge bonds with foreign countries. Did she not know that the people of Afghanistan do not trust the U S? We have hardly been the guys in white hats in our dealings with Pakistan and they are very suspicious that they will be our next victim. Diplomacy isn't about playing the role of a Diva.

Some once said so aptly, probably the insightful Maureen Dowd, that Hillary doesn't know the difference in being tough and being mean.

nations that support or unwilling to deal with terrorist leaves us with two choices.

either do something about the problem with our military or exit the international arena and keep to ourselves.

this half of each approach will never work.
