Damon Peace

Superstar kid reporter Damon Weaver, having achieved the interview with President Obama that our own Sam Stein could only dream of getting, has trained his sights on even more impressive goals: bringing about Middle East peace. Everyone in America loves this kid, so let's hope it translates globally.

Weaver appeared yesterday on the U.S.-sponsored, Arabic language channel al Hurra TV. There, he was a guest on Al Youm, a three-hour news broadcast seen across the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe, to discuss his meeting with President Obama. Before signing off, Weaver offered viewers some goodwill wishes:

WEAVER: I would just like to say that there is a lot of violence in the town that I live in. I have tried to help my town by creating a report for ABC News about the violence that occurs there. When I watch the news I'm always hearing about the violence that happens in the Middle East. I just want to say that I hope everyone in the world can get along and let's have Peace in the Middle East.

If anyone can finally bring peace to the Middle East, it's Damon Weaver lol.

He's such a great kid. Maybe he should consider a career in foreign policy rather than journalism. He's got plenty of time to decide on that ;)

Damon, you rule! I'm inspired by the fact that a child can go on television and reach out for peace in the Middle East as we all should be. I'm also happy that the Arab channel had the vision to include him in their show. It's kids like Damon who will make a difference in the world. PEACE!

It's so refreshing to see a positive young boy with such a bright future. Damon, keep up the good work. Study hard, keep that beautiful smile and that wonderful personality. With those attributes, you will succeed in reaching your life's goals.

Weaver is smart, personable, good looking, persistent and already has gotten a leg up on a career in journalism. Two things he must work hard on, starting right now: Writing well with perfect grammar, spelling, expression, fact-checking, etc.; working with someone to correct his diction/articulation. I can hardly understand him. Nothing wrong with his ethnic speech but it must be instantly clear. I sure wish him well.

It was difficult to hear Damon over the translator.

I love this kid. He is going to be a great reporter one day if he gets enough mangos and french fries (that's what he told Obama he wanted for school lunches).
