Rick Santorum Points Finger At Bush On Afghanistan

Last week, Vice President Dick Cheney attacked President Obama, saying he is "afraid to make a decision" on the war in Afghanistan and that he's "dithering." A number of conservatives, including Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and columnist George Will, disagreed with Cheney's language. "I would never want to call my president 'dithering,'" Hatch said.

But many on the right have failed to mention the more substantive point, namely that Cheney and the Bush administration itself "dithered" on Afghanistan and diverted valuable resources to invade Iraq. But last night on Fox News, former Republican senator Rick Santorum stepped up to the plate:

Cheney has incredible nerve speaking out about anything Obama does. He needs to zip his pie hole shut and crawl back under the rock he came from. He had his own agenda as puppet master, took the country to the brink of ruin, started a war that should never have happened and abandoned the war against Al Qaida in Afghanistan. He should be prosecuted, not given credence by the press.

But Obama continues on the same path that Bush/ Cheney started, with no apparent intention of diverting or changing anything. What does that say about him?

The in Iraw is already on a timetable for ending however that timetable was agreed to by the previous administration; Obama can try to speed it up but with the escalating violence that may be imposssible.

And in afganistan, he is actually thinking and planning, something the previous administration didn't see as necessary.

Santorum is among the large group of Republicans who insist that government spends and costs too much even as they attempt to privatize government functions so that their campaign donors can profit handsomely by charging far more than the once public service cost Americans in tax dollars.

Is why when Baucus started talking about mandatory insurance premiums I thought I was listening to a Republican, because he was bypassing the public-to-private transformation process entirely.
