Grayson Called "Wingnut" By New York Times

Grayson

New York Times:

On paper, Representative Alan Grayson, a freshman Democrat from Florida, seems a bit stiff: degrees from Harvard and Harvard Law; a résumé that includes clerking for the United States Court of Appeals under Judges Antonin Scalia, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Robert Bork; an advocate for the aging.

But in recent weeks, Mr. Grayson has catapulted himself to national renown for outlandish rhetoric and a pugilistic political style that makes him seem less staid lawmaker than a character on the lam from one of his Orlando district's theme parks.

The NYP is officially a "wingnut" newspaper that has only months to live. Newspapers are about as relevant to today as buggy whips.

Dr Nancy "public option is a dirty word" Snyderman just did a charming little piece on outrageous whacky congressional rhetoric in which she lumped Alan Grayson with Virginia Foxx, Joe Wilson. Lovely! I guess she has to break up her shrill vaccinate, vaccinate, H1N1 deaths, where is the vaccine we've been promised hour broadcast.

The New York Times is agreeing with me, because I said this a few days ago...

Alan Greyson is a liability. Democrats and supporters of the causes he supports, which for the most part are the same causes I support when it comes to social policy, aught to be careful how they employ Greyson's gift for metaphors. ( I was referring to that interview he did in HARDBALL and the other stuff)

At the risk of stepping into Greyson suporters mine-field, I have to say that many similarities in style can be found in this guy and Michele Bachmann. Both have no recoil when it comes to exaggerated hyperbole, both use the chamber of the house as if it was their own conspiracy -theory-we bpage for outrageous claims and hurtful rants. Granted, many people will tolerate the lack of civility if its for the cause of their believes.

There is a huge difference between Bachmann and Geryson and for you to even put these two people in the same category shows how little you know and how little you listen to what they say.
Sure Grayson is unconventional, but at times like these when everyone else in his party are just muddling along, someone like Grayson is needed to wake them up and get them moving on the issues that are important.
Backmann bases her rhetoric and theatrics on lies and deception--nothing she ever says is based on reality. She lives in this teabagger fantsy land. She is someone with no substance who bases her existence on injecting toxic lies into the debate.
Grayson bases what he says on facts and the law. He does his research, he states his case with amazing accuracy and amazing detail. He sticks to facts. Something Backmann knows nothing about.
You are missing the whole point of what Gayson does. He is trying to wake our sleeping Congress up, he is also trying to get the media's attention to the real issues and the real facts.
I think he is an asset to the party.

I am a little disappointed in the NYTimes for this, but when you read the entire article it is put it in context and not entirely critical. I have a great deal of respect for Grayson as I do for Obama, and for different reasons.

If anyone has yet to visit his website namesofthedead.com, they should. He puts the need for health care reform in terms everyone should understand.

Meanwhile a delusional Virginia Foxx compares saving countless lives and reversing one of the worst infant mortality rates in the modern world to an act of terrorism. Now and then somebody needs to speak their language and call them out... with facts.

Bless Grayson for speaking out. Many his speeches are making the rounds around the net, and not just in America...and for all the right reasons. There is a time for diplomacy, but there is a time to set the record straight, especially with the foxnews misinformation machine working overtime.

He should take advantage of his remaining time in the House because he is going to be a one term wonder :-))

I am thankful that someone is finally willing to speak the truth. He is not a wingnut and by just calling him that has totally turned me off of the NYT--although that disenchantment began long before with your pushing for the Iraq War to mention only one of many

This clearly shows us how far to the Right the NYT has moved.

Congressman Grayson is the real deal and this liberals new hero, he epitomizes what the democratic party should stand for, integrity and concern for their constituents over the legal bribes offered by lobbyists representing the corporate point of view.

He is not the democrats "problem child" as the NYT depicted him but a new rising star of the party.

This is the type of representative Frank Capra envisioned when he directed that classic movie starring Jimmy Stewart; Mr Smith Goes To Washington.

Congressman; you keep telling it like it is and ignore the newspaper that helped Bush lie us into an unjustified war with Iraq. I suppose the NYT's idea of a hero is the conservatives "wingnut" Judith Miller.

G0LDMAN and JPM are buying up Media

1. 85% of Nassau Broadcasting Partners =51 radio stations along East Coast

2. Tribune bought by JPM with an majority equity stake

3. G0LDMAN and JPM are eager to "rescue" virtually the entire distressed media space

4. Thousands of TV stations, radio channels, newspaper and magazines.

5. Control of the media propaganda by these two financial D0minators! FCC seems to turns b1ind eyes on stealthily control of entire media world.

6. They want complete d0mination of the 4th estate and the 1D1OT TUBE.

7. Bought out of their offshore accounts.

8. G0LDMAN+JPM, better known as Treasury+the FED are cementing control of media industry.

The NYTimes needs to clean its own house. Americans (Progressives or otherwise) look for a voice. The Times (many moons ago) contributed in that regard... but now is just a flunky organization in a crisp white button down shirt. I don't mind a little Ragu getting spilled on the dysfunctional picture of American Life. Newspapers in Glass Houses shouldn't throw wingnuts.
