Talking Points Memo:

Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) says President Obama has endangered American lives by not doing more to alleviate the nation's short supply of H1N1 vaccine. In a new interview with the conservative-leaning CNSNews.com, Wilson says Obama's administration is "solely responsible" for the vaccine shortage, which he said are related to promises America made to donate vaccine to some foreign allies...

Just to enlighten some of those that blog here!!
We seem to be having a problem understanding why some people are just not hearing the facts and are still supporting the Republicans, even after all of the bad things they have done to the Country. Well, this may help.
My father moved back down to Arkansas when he retired. He is a staunch Democrat but sometimes tells me the dumbest, republican, talking points. I could not figure out why he was telling me these things......that is.....until I went down there for a few weeks this Summer. You can not get anything but Republican slanted news in that state!!! Unless you have Satelite TV or Satelite Radio, there is nothing but Conservative, Lie Lie Lie, News. I have since found out that there are many states where this is the case. In fact, even if you have Satelite TV, such as Dish or DirecTV, you can not get any Normal News Broadcasts. In TX. they block MSNBC!!! I was flabberghasted when I found this out. So, the next time we go to blame the South, just remember that these people can't even get the truth from their Allowed Broadcasters. We and the Democrats really have a big problem to overcome. TAKE BACK OUR AIRWAVES AND OUR MEDIA.

How can it be that the GOP says the government should get out of the way, and in the same breath blames the government for anything they do or don't do? It doesn't add up.

I'll bet the people of Wilson's district in SC are embarrassed and fed up with him, and he will have trouble winning reelection--- Nah, just kidding!

Another senseless GOPer smply making himself appear to be a fool. Let's not forget they GOP lost the last big election by more than 9,000,000 votes, it makes their rhetoric nothing more than static in comparison.

The funny thing is (even though it's getting less and less funny the older I get,) is that there are actually people out there who believe this guy. Who STILL believe this guy. People who watch him do one thing, turn around and do or say the complete opposite - and still think this guy is worth listening to. I guess it really doesn't matter for some people what their candidate says or believes in, just as long as he remains at odds with the party you hate. Go figure? These Repubs will do or say anything they think will get them what they want - regardless of ethics, regardless of trying to do what's actually right for the country, regardless of any semblance of decency, regardless of anything. It all depends on which way the wind is blowing that particular moment. We have to vote out of office ANY politician who behaves in this manner, no matter which side of the aisle he (or she) hails from.

It's a testament to the intelligence level of the GOP base, when blatant hypocrisy such as this is not only overlooked, but rewarded.

Yes there have been some vaccine shortages but considering how quickly the virus came back this fall things are going much better than they might have. Not to mention that the GOP is holding up the surgeon general appointment.

This is the republican plan for taking over in the next elections. They are going to say NO to everything Obama does, and when he fails due to their obstructionism, they will blame Obama for it. We must continue ridiculing and exposing the republicans until there party is completely destroyed. They are the biggest threat to national security the country has ever had. No other entity in the entire history of the world has done as much as the republican party to destroy this country.

What am I missing about this article? It seems to be a red herring. Wilson may have voted against the bill to provide the funding, but the bill still passed...which means that they got the money they asked for. Now if they didn't ask for enough money for adequate supply, that has nothing to do with Joe. And I am not a fan, I am trying to understand this.

It's not that hard to figure out. Yes the Stimulus Bill passed but the funding for the vaccines was stripped from the bill before passing. Get it now????

Blurting out a lie? And one that anyone on those "interwebs" can disprove in 10 seconds? Say it isn't so, Joe! Really, is there something the water in South Carolina?

Sure. If you want to debate Wilson's blatant hypocrisy then I'm down.

Although it's going to be hard to defend the position of a man who voted against funding for the vaccine & then turns around & tries to blame it on the President.
