Drunk Drivers Call 911 To Report THEMSELVES (VIDEO)

Drunk drivers are generally not something to laugh at, but it's tough not to at least chuckle at the ones who call 911 on themselves. Are they ironically responsible, or simply just secretly wanting to be caught? We'll leave that to you to decide.

CNN's Jeanne Moos has gathered together a video reel of some of these stupid criminals, although the best one doesn't even involve alcohol. Our favorite is the cop who called 911 to report that he was very high off marijuana he'd confiscated from someone he arrested, and now he thought he was going to die.

Turning oneself in via 911 is far better than continuing to pose a threat to others and for that the drunk driver deserves praise and encouragement if drinking continues to be a problem. Instead the posters smug chuckling we should hope that others take the hint as well and one thing that could help is if anyone who does report themselves drunk while driving can have that taken into consideration and if done before any harm, can be used to absolve them of liability and expunge their record. The 5th amendment might turn out to be a usefull tool to keep productive people out of trouble in ways never imagined by the original writers.

Excuse me, but is it better to be an alcoholic in denial, and killing a few people while you're at it? How often do people with DUI put others in danger and get locked behind bars for not doing anything about it.
