Well that was an ignorant article. The title claims more insurers are paying for alternative treatments, yet as the article says the plans just market them to their patients then require them to pay the full cost. It also says no cures have ever been proven from alternative medicine... That's funny because before allopathic medicine existed herbal medicine cured all sorts of diseases and has since the beginning of time. That's the past tense reality against that statement, but present tense there are tons of studies showing the effectiveness of different herbal drugs for the diseases they're used to treat. As with mainstream profit based medicine, this article decides to pretend all of these studies don't exist. It's understandable to think they don't exist however since pharmaceutical companies keep that information out of medical schools.

"That's funny because before allopathic medicine existed herbal medicine cured all sorts of diseases and has since the beginning of time."

And what would these cures be exactly? Just because they used some herb to treat a disease that they didn't know anything about doesn't mean it worked.

Why do you think life expectancy went from around 18 in the Bronze Age to over 65 now? Hell at the start of the 20th century the average life expectancy was still only about 30-40. So in 100 years of medical advancements we've doubled our life expectancy.

Let's look at alternative treatments anyway and what they believe.

Crystal Healing: Crystals have super healing powers endowed on them by Mother Nature.
Acupuncture: Putting needles in you makes your back feel better because it balances your Yin and Yang energies.
Homeopathy: Diluting something in water until it's not there anymore can cure you because water has some magical "memory."
Reiki: Laying of hands version 2.0.

And I get a kick out of you completely pretending the frauds that push alternative medicine on you aren't out for money.
