Glenn Beck Hospitalized With Appendicitis, Has Surgery

Glenn Beck suffered a sudden attack of appendicitis Wednesday and was taken to an undisclosed hospital to have his appendix removed.

Beck left his radio show Wednesday complaining that he was not feeling well. Mercury Radio president Christopher Balfe confirmed to radio blog NTS Media that Beck was having his appendix removed at an undisclosed hospital. Balfe also joked that "before going under Glenn asked the doctor to draw out the surgery procedure on a blackboard."

Judge Andrew Napolitano guest-hosted Beck's 5PM show on Fox News in his absence, adding that he is expected to make a full recovery and return soon.

I feel badly for anyone who is sick or has a related problem. We are all human beings and I don't wish any thng bad on anyone, ever. No matter their political views.

But he told the doctor that he knew it was on the right side, and ordered him to only cut there, under threat of lawsuit. There was plenty of follow-up work required.

continued from previous post...If this bill was put in place to help people why is it then that people are being forced to get coverage, and penalized and fined if they don't have a plan! America has always been the land of freedom of choice, doesn't sound like the government wants you to have a choice here now does it! Do your homework on this! This bill helps no one! It is another way to put private companies out of business and put more government control in place! And guess what happens next, if the government is paying the bill for your healthcare dont you think that leaves room for them to start making other choices for you, like what you eat, drink, smoke, etc! This country is going down the tubes if people don't start opening their eyes to what's really going on around them! Research, ask questions and call your state rep! The republicans in congress have come up with a bill, 12 pages, that will insure the uninsured, no penalties if you choose not to get coverage, and no rationing or government control! But the Liberal democrats won't let you hear about that one, why is that? maybe because it eliminates all government control so therefore doesn't do them any good!
Glenn if you read this my thoughts and prayers are with you! God Bless you! And hurry back to fox! We miss you over here in Missouri!!

You realize, of course, that numerous other countries have universal health care but do not have the crazy restrictions you claim. I've lived with universal health care in Canada all my life, and no one has told me what to drink, eat, smoke, etc. except my former and present family physicians. And all they've ever said is to go easy on the cookies and that a Harvey Wallbanger beats a hot toddy for a cold because of the vitamin C in the OJ.

Charity is when you give something that you own. Giving someone else's property is not being charitable, it's being a thief.

I am a free man, not a slave. What stands between me and slavery is the US Constitution, which limits federal power to only those enumerated (see 10th amendment). Health care is not an enumerated power, It is never mentioned in the Constitution. For any federal official, Representative, Senator or President, to assume power over my health care choice is unconstitutional, illegal, and a violation of their sacred oath of office to protect the constitution.

No federal bureaucrat will ever dictate what procedure my child, parent or spouse will or will not receive. I cannot ethically make that choice for you, You (or a government agent) cannot ethically make that choice for me.

If you have truly do have a heart, then keep your nose out of my health care choice. Don't steal mine.

For those of you posting comments about Glenn Beck having health insurance while millions of others do not read on! All of us want some type of health care reform, including Beck, in order to insure those that do not, maybe you do not have your facts straight so let me educate you. The Democrats and their amazing 2,000 page health care bill is not going to cover everyone, there is still going to be millions left unisured, so what is the point in all of this? Barack Obama and the rest of the goons are creating this bill as a way to funnel everyone into a single payer health care system (please research if you do not know the meaning of single payer health system). Obama has said himself on a radio interview that that is what we need a universal health care system! The bill states, and it has already been established, a rationing board, why would anyone support a government run health care option that has rationing boards in place! wake up people this is a way to control and ration your healthcare! There are hundreds of ways to help the uninsured without regulating or rationing everyone's care. continued..

Your healthcare is already rationed by the insurance companies. I was an army brat. My only health care until I was 21 was through army hospitals and doctors. I'd much rather have care like they provided than the care provided, if you're lucky, by insurance companies who are watching their bottom line because their real goal as a business is to make a profit.

Beck's influence is clear here. Time to look to some other source of info.

btw, if the insurance companies, the republicans, the "conservatives" and Fox all got together with the democrats to fix our health care CRISIS, we might have a better bill than the one being presented now.

Start calling Glenn and Rush and telling them they are hurting America and you are going to go get your info from someone who's not trying to hawk gold futures and water softners between disingenuous rants.

You seem to have your heart in the right place, but please remember Glenn, Rush, & Fox are working under the same objective as the insurance companies, to make a profit.

I can assure you, they really don't care one bit if a good bill or bad bill is passed, no more than the insurance companies do. They calculate what will maximize their profits and conduct business to that end.

If someone doing a "Morning Zoo" show in Tulsa suddenly appeared on Fox pulling 3x ratings over other hosts, the network wouldn't blink twice canning everyone on sight regardless of the political bent. It's not personal or caring about what's good for our country, it's just business...

BTW - Thank your folks for their service and thanks to you as well, it couldn't have been an easy way to grow up.

Why are you so intent that everyone has to go through HMO panels that decide whether or not a lifesaving procedure is "viable" or not? That may be fine for you, but why do you want to force that on everybody else?

I wish no ill will upon Glenn Beck. Just a long life from this point forward in total obscurity. Oh, and if he happens to have a brain and soul implant while he is in the hospital, that really would not hurt. Good luck, Glenn. Here's hoping you become the answer to a trivia question and that, not long from now, people will be saying, "Glenn who?"

Well, I wish Beck a speedy recovery. I don't agree with his ideology and hope he thinks about the millions of Americans who are unable to afford medical treatment because they are uninsured or under insured. I also hope that he will tell the truth and quit spreading falsehoods about health reform.
