Olbermann Rips Glenn Beck For Exploiting 9/11: "Go To Hell" (VIDEO)

Keith Olbermann slammed Glenn Beck last night for invoking 9/11 in his opposition to health care reform. Beck launched into a rant about how he could have shouted for years about Osama bin Laden and warned of the attack and still no one would have taken the precautions necessary to stop it. Olbermann was having none of it:

Beck, you and the 9/12ers have the nerve to exploit 9/11 for your lousy TV raitings? You cannot make light of 9/11, nor bandy about as if your petty political grievances are comparable to it and still be an actual, patriotic American. In short, Glenn, 9/12ers, if you're invoking 9/11 just to oppose health care reform, go to hell.

Keith rocks! I'm glad KO took Beck to task for what he said (totally inappropriate), and as far as I'm concerned, he has absolutely nothing to apologize for. I doubt anyone would ask him for one either. After all, he did tell Bush to "shut the h3ll up" (or something to that idea).

Quite right, princeza. Your chances of someone 'telling the truth and shaming the devil' are far greater in Keith's realm of reporting than anything you'll hear (at any time) from Faux's mouthpieces. There's far too much documentation of Faux's 'consistent pattern' of half-truth and outright innuendo, broadcast as 'news' (and half-heartedly apologized for afterward) - these occurrences could be discounted by apologists as an excess of sloppiness in preparation of the reports, but Faux's gone far beyond that lowered bar, and then some. The old saying 'the proof is in the pudding' leaves Faux holding a very large, very odoriferous bowl of curdled custard, so to speak... ;)

glenda beck should pickup Richard Clarke's book, Against All Enemies, and read what it was like for someone in real life to shout for months about Bin Laden (and the coming attack that occurred on 9/11) and be ignored by the National Security Advisor and the President. If W was the decider, he also decided to ignore the warnings of the previous President of the US, Bill Clinton.

The first second that I saw Glenn Beck on TV, back in his CNN days, before he opened his mouth, I thought he looked like the vice- principal of a particularly unpleasant high school.

it should be obvious to many...tha­t we have MSNBC (the left).....­we have FOX (the right). Why not just tell the news without any spin. Even ABC, CBS, and NBC network news put spin on things.

Somehow I think all of these giant media corporate conglomerate agencies have an agenda. And it is not in the average people's interests. You know? If they can keep people divided and fuming over stupid stuff each day. Then the giant corporations can do pretty much what they want.

Yours is one conspiracy theory that has the ring of truth. Distraction and inanity as the most effective opiate of the people.

But regarding spin: Everyone and every organization spins. It's just basic human nature to put the best face on your position or present your agenda in the best light. I really don't fault anyone for that. And if that was all that FOX News did, I wouldn't watch them, but I would have no philosophical issue with them. The problem with FOX, however, is that they don't just "spin," they actually tell untruths on-air. They actually lie to their viewers. They actually present factually incorrect information (and easily proven incorrect information) as truth on a regular basis, knowing that their viewship will not critically analyze the info or make any effort to double check its accuracy. The other news outlets do not do this. Even when they make an honest mistake, the other news outlets prominently correct it on their next broadcast. Fox just leaves their lies and misinformation out there to continue poisoning the well.
