Ted Haggard To Lead Church Once Again

Haggard

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Ted Haggard, who was dismissed from the megachurch he founded after a man alleged a cash-for-sex relationship with him, plans to lead people in worship again.

The pastor told The Gazette he is holding a "prayer meeting" Nov. 12 in his living room in Colorado Springs but said it would also be correct to call it a church.

Haggard says he has no goals of building something like New Life Church, which began with about 25 people in his basement in 1985 and grew to thousands of members.

Haggard resigned from the church in 2006 after a Denver man said Haggard paid him for sex.

The gathering Nov. 12 will include music, an offering to New Life Church and a talk from Haggard about the power of prayer.

is it really a church or will it be a gay bar.

just kidding

it must have been quite a challenge to go through the ordeal he did

Hopefully he will wake up and be less self obsessed and put others first

I wish him good luck

BE THE CHANGE,

Ed

Colorado Springs is certainly an odd place.

Haggard and Dobson.

Is the LIberace museum located there too?

No, but there is The Air Force Academy of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

If you're worried about the ever diminishing separation of church and state, google "Air Force Academy Evangelical" and really get scared. Once the U.S. military decides, like George Bush, that it answers to a higher power than the U.S. Constitution things will get very interesting.

I've lived in the Springs for the past 18 months. Having moved here from the Bay Area of all places, I can attest, this is a very strange place. Focus on the Family, Christian Coalition, Mega Churches, 2 Air Force Bases, 1 AF Academy, 1 Army base and Cheyenne Mountain which houses deep in it's belly one of the largest military command centers on the planet.

Then there's hippies and college students and art everywhere and some of the most beautiful mountain scenery anywhere. This place is a trip.

Gay man with no talent and no conscience - what else can he do - but start a church. Maybe this time he will cater to the gay community

The headline is erroneous. It should say "Ted Haggard to Lead Cult Once Again".

Wonder if he will once again be calling W every week............

When buying a used car, you kick the tires. So did Ted. He went out for a test drive. Ted cranked-up it and rode it.

I don't see the problem.

Sexual orientation is a personal and conscious choice, and not a genetic predisposition. Without any experience of gay sex, how would Ted Haggard know which to chose?

Te was just trying to make informed decisions.

Pretty good satire. I wonder how many will read it as such.

I would like to attend the gathering. Will there be a question and answer period?

Dear JFC (or I think really J), I have decided that I need to stop posting. Tell everyone goodbye for me, even elmerfude please. Let kwinter know. I will miss her. Also HS. and Schweizer. and Rolodex. And Valerie Tarico. everyone.
Here is something beautiful that I wanted to leave with you: "In so far as I am not loved by others, I am unintelligible to myself" -- know that you are loved by others. I will really miss you. I wish you all the best.

No! Don't go Min! You can just cut back to min sinning..lol.. You don't have to cold turkey; you can just dabble. I did it, and I didn't even need a 12 step program..lol. Anyway, farewell, and best wishes MS--not forever I hope:

It was but yesterday we met in a dream...and.. built a tower in the sky.

But now....our dream is over and we must part...

If... we should meet once more...we shall build another tower in the sky.
