The city of Boulder's open space department has decided to indefinitely close the popular Boulder Falls trail after finding no reasonable way to fix the area's rock-fall danger.

The short trail that starts 11 miles up Boulder Canyon and leads to the waterfalls on North Boulder Creek was first closed temporarily in late March when a 63-year-old woman visiting from Madison, Wis., was seriously injured by a falling rock.

The very first time I beheld Boulder falls after moving there in the 80's, a dumass fell out of the sky after slipping while drunk-bouldering. He lucked out and hit some water between the jagged rocks below and only had a bunch of broken bones.
