Kate Middleton, the girlfriend and reported future wife of Britain's Prince William, has already begun to cultivate a wardrobe worthy of a queen. She's mastered the art of donning huge hats, she's already started wearing ensembles that match William's, and she certainly knows how to dress for charity functions: in sequins and with glowsticks. Royalty is obsolete in this day and time. But, it's their country and they can do as they wish. I can't understand our country's infacuation with it, though.

I think she is fit to be a princess. She oozes taste and style. I also like she is not a blue blood and it goes to show you don't have to be in order join the ranks of royalty (Grace Kelly). No amount of money can buy class and in that she is very well to do.

Nope, don't have to be blue blood but you do have to be white, at least upper-middle class and NOT a Catholic (there is still a law prohibiting heirs to the British throne from marrying Catholics) or any other religion that isn't Protestant Christian or more specifically, Church of England. These things usually go without saying because saying them out loud makes them sound ridiculously archaic and out of touch with the modern world, which they are. Princess Diana, the mother of the heir to the throne was most likely planning to marry someone who didn't fit that description and, well, she had an 'accident'.

Who says you have to be white and upper middle class? Kate may be white but she certainly isn't upper middle class, her mother was an air stewardess, and her uncles a very dodgy businessman, recently pictured dealing cocaine from his Spanish villa.

she's no diana - she's kind of plain looking - she has to be vetted by the Queen and co anyway - HRHII looks like she's going to be hanging on for a while, so Will is in no hurry

I agree, but of course there are the haters that thinks she's dowdy and dreadful looking. I think perhaps they need their eyes checked.

Miss Kate is a very striking young woman and both she and the Prince make a very handsome couple.

If all the pomp and circumstance will be like Prince Charles and Lady Diana's was, this one should be a whopoper. You can be sure it will be a big splash worldwide.

Yes, this was quite a safe selection, when she split from him briefly she appeared around town looking quite raunchy, but just on the right side of respectable.
