What a difficult business. Put there, of course, by....us...the people who are here and on the other hundred plus national and local online "news" sources.

The NYT, down 7% to under 1 million for the first time in years, didn't do as well as the WSJ (up .6% to 2 million) but handily beat the SF Chronicle (-25%), the Boston Globe (slightly better at - 18.5% than the Post at - 18.8%) and so on.

The reason the NY Post is losing circulation is that more and more people aren't literate enough to read simple news copy anymore.
As the Atlantic magazine story asked in the July/ August 2008 issue cover story: "Is Google Making Us Stoopid?"
Absolutely.
socialtalker   08:37 PM on 11/09/2009
i dont see how that is the reason. there is nothing special about "real news copy"

Oh, good! Any time I hear that News Corp is losing money my heart skips a beat! About the only thing keeping Murdoch afloat these days is Fox, so boycott the advertisers. It's working.
