Steven Tyler QUITS Aerosmith: Joe Perry

However, Perry told the Las Vegas Sun today that he believes Tyler is history.

"Steven quit as far as I can tell," Perry said from his Boston home. "I don't know anymore than you do about it. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don't know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don't know."

These guys were cool back in the 1970s when I was a young man. After they all got out of rehab, things were never the same, they became bubble gum rockers, they made pop tunes, not classics. Rock and roll is a young man's game, these guys should have hung it up long ago.

Misleading headline. "Steven Tyler QUITS Aerosmith"? Sorry, but Steven Tyler IS Aerosmith. The headline should read something like "Aerosmith No More."

Agreed. In the article, they're talking replacement. Steven Tyler can't be replaced, IMO. His voice is the soul of the band. They should quit while they're ahead.

There are all kinds of jokes one can make here. Band breakups are a dime a dozen. But Aerosmith is one in a million. And there IS NO Aerosmith without Steven Tyler. There is no Aerosmith without Joe Perry either. I'd say I'm sad. I love Aerosmith. But really, how many bands do as much as they have? If (for whatever reason) Steven wants to quit, he owes nobody anything. I've seen Aerosmith several times. It was always an AWESOME show. Thanks for the rock! Do whatever you gotta do.
