Blake Lively's Hair Is The New 'Rachel' (PHOTOS, POLL)

Blake Lively

Move over Farrah and Rachel--there's a new haircut in town that has Manhattan women sauntering to the salon: The Blake Lively. According to the New York Times' recent survey, Lively's long, blond, messy locks are the most requested by ladies waiting in the chair. Nuri Yurt of Toka Salon on Madison Avenue says the look only works on tall, skinny women, but that doesn't seem to dissuade any cult-cut followers.

"I didn't really realize the extent of it," Ms. Lively said of her hair's popularity, though she had an inkling: fashion forerunners like Vogue staffers routinely approach her at events and fixate on her hair, she said.

"That's always kind of odd, but unbelievably flattering," she said.

Take a look at Lively's locks:

I AGREE.

Someone please tell this Nuri Yurt person to kiss my behind. I think the only reason you would tell anybody that only tall thin women can have long hair is so that you can have lots of money from the other women coming to your salon and spending their hard-earned cash.

Blake Lively's hairdo is new??? It's been around since the 1960s.

Thank you, anyone remember Jerry Hall? I'm sure there are others, this is anything but a "new" do.

Blonde waves, parted on the side so one eye is covered, makes me think of Veronica Lake in 40s film noir.

Why wouldn't young women want to not only act like NYC private school spoiled brats, but look like them as well?

I hate this "new" (seems like it has been around forever) look. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. Maybe for young girls it's okay, but even then, I don't like everyone looking the same. But on anyone over 23, it ought to be against the law. It's ridiculous to turn on the TV and see anchor women with hair down to their waist (the gal on ABC network news in the a.m. before GMA)--along with the hoop earrings that are 12" in diameter (Meredith Viera).

If your hair is unhealthy, or thinning, then yes, by all means, do something to make it more flattering, length isn't your friend then, but.. Otherwise? Why should a someone cut their hair just because they're not a teenager? That makes no sense whatsoever.

I didn't make it past 23 so that other people could tell ME how long my hair should be, and I don't think you did either. I don't buy the thing about it only looking good on tall, think women either.
I've seen women of all shapes and sizes have long thick hair and it looks wonderful if kept well.

I had forgotten how attractive Ms. Aniston's looked with her hair in shorter layers. It makes her current longer locks seem almost draggy and tired by comparison.

I'm 45 and I have long hair-oh, the shock and the horror!

I was only referring to Ms. Aniston. I've never seen you.

did you mean to reply to the post above this that is horrified by anyone over 23 with long hair? Aesthete didn't exactly slam women over any age with poor looking hair.. Jennifer Aniston's hair DOES look lanky a lot of the time, age not important. She needs to the body that the cute layers gave.
