Michelle Obama famously wore a Jason Wu gown on inauguration night, and has been wearing his designs ever since. But in an interview with the Washington Times, the designer reveals that he's never met the first lady. "I'd definitely love to in the near future, but now I'm really, really busy working on my pre-fall collection and moving to my new studio space," Wu said. "It's really exciting to see the first lady promote her fashion in such a good way. I'm always excited to see what she wears, whether it's by me or not."

Don't be so modest, Jason! Here's a round-up of a dozen ensembles donned by Michelle and made by Wu:

As usual, HP has another misleading headline.

This is what Wu said--to those of you either too lazy or too illiterate to read beyond the headline:

"I'd definitely love to in the near future, but now I'm really, really busy working on my pre-fall collection and moving to my new studio space," Wu said. "It's really exciting to see the first lady promote her fashion in such a good way. I'm always excited to see what she wears, whether it's by me or not."

I think that's as polite as anyone could be. It's not like the FL called and got snubbed by him. He's only answering the question of whether he's met her or not. And I think it's very gracious of him to say that he's always excited to see what she wears--regardless of the designer. He obviously has respect for her taste.

After reading a few on these comments, I see why you posted your's, and your right, Wu's respectful statement is not a snub to the FL. For me, he clarified that he has never met her, and hence has never been a personal designer nor stylist to the FL. He ain't the one giving her those big belts and little sweaters with his beautiful designs!!! (LOL)

This headline is totally busted. It implies that Mr. Wu declined the First Lady's request for a meeting. Apparently, from the article, that supposition is not in fact true. What is up with you guys?

Considering Ms Obama is in Asia and Mr Wu is in NY a meeting would be tough.

No where does it say that she asked to meet with him (much less demanded!!!) and no where does it say that he asked to meet with her. All he said was that it wasn't a good time to pursue a meeting. Geez, how adept people are at reading between the lines, even when there's nothing there. Seems he was asked a question, and that was his response. He could have told the reported it was an inappropriate question, rather than answering it, I suppose.

Jason Wu is a genius and definitely made the right call on dissing MO. He runs a successful business and does not have time to lounge around all day like the Obamas doing nothing.

Jason Wo is dumb. Here is a woman (the first lady at that) that virtually put him on the map wearing his clothes and he doesn't have time. Dumb,Dumb

Good. Maybe she'll stop wearing those ugly dresses that he stole from the 1950s.

Oh, no you don't, Mr. Woo. You get your happy little bu!! on a plane and pay your respects.

Why? He is running a successful business and MO is not his only client. He has clients worldwide to please. MO does not have a job and nothing but time on her hands. She should stop being lazy and go on a plane to see him.

Who cares??? His designs are HORRIBLE. Dump him Michelle. He has not done you any favors.

Nothing wrong with Wu's designs. The woman who chooses his designs has the responsibility of choosing something that looks good on her, and in a size that fits.

Wow, kinda ungrateful there, Jase. You should be more appreciative seeing your tax dollars at work.

I kinda miss the Barbara Bush collection from Target.

It is possible that this is being taken out of context but on the surface it most certainly seems rude and inappropriate.

What he actually said is "I'd love to meet her in the near future, but I'm really busy ..."

It would perhaps be rude had he been declining an actual invitation from FLOTUS, but he was not.

The title is out of context. If anything, it casts our First Lady in a bad light, by implying she demanded that he attend her. That doesn't appear to be what happened at all.
