Stewart Pattinson

Catherine Hardwicke, the director of 'Twilight' has all but confirmed the long-rumored romance between costars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

"I didn't have a camera in the hotel room, I cannot say," she told TIME magazine about when things starting heating up. "But in terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn't happen on the first movie. Nothing crossed the line while on the first film. I think it took a long time for Kristen to realize, O.K., I've got to give this a go and really try to be with this person."

Hardwicke noticed the chemistry between Pattinson, 23, and Stewart, now 19, right away and discouraged him from carrying it from the screen to the set.

"After I cast him, I told Rob, Don't even think about having a romance with her," she said. "She's under 18. You will be arrested."

The young lovebirds are now in Madrid promoting 'Twilight: New Moon,' which opens November 20.

How sad that this generation of women are being conditioned to believe their only means of respect, fulfillment or survival is to be protected by a man. That they must give up everything to follow that man and be a part of his culture or their lives are meaningless. The idea prevalent throughout the content geared for their demographic is that women are prey; powerless to protect themselves, cannot be their own hero or worthy without a man or his way of life.

Where’s Ellen Ripley when you need her?

I agree, it's publicity.

Um, the romance is called publicity.

I'm sorry, but that picture is hilarious. They couldn't look more angsty if they tried. Reminds me of the goth clique in South Park.

That guy looks like he stepped right out of the 1980s. Ah, those Reagan years, when tax cuts for the rich seemed like such a great idea...

What is all the fuss about? Aren't these movies aimed at teens. Kind of like "Where the Boys Are" or "Blue Denim" (from my pre teen and teen years) but without the vampires.

Or should I say "with vampires" instead of just premarital sex.

i don't know what's worse- the tween / teen / soccer mom obsession, or the zoolander facial expressions of these "vampires"

zoolander expressions, lol---when I took the kids to see it, it made me think of that too. I think it's supposed to be sexy, though--isn't it?? I actually heard laughter in the theater at inappropriate times

I won't ask "Who the hell cares?" because I know there are "Twilight" fans, lots of them, who DO care...the same fans who will spend the money earned from babysitting on, or else beg their parents to buy them, that ludicrous "Robsessed" DVD which chronicles Mr. Pattinson's...um...brief and not-terribly-noteworthy career.

The movie "Twilight" was BORING, not least because neither Pattinson nor his rumored amour, Kristen Stewart, are particularly appealing actors...but then again, they didn't portray particularly appealing characters. Stewart's character, named Bella if I recall correctly, is a dull, mousy goth-wannabe who somehow has everyone drooling over her. Pattinson's character, Edward, is just bland. Yet they're supposed to have The Romance Of The Century, and every SEXUALLY-CHARGED, DEEP AND POETIC glance they share is supposed to poleaxe everyone. I shrugged.

Oh well. The pre-teen girls who make up 99.999% of this series' audience will eat this up like candy. More power to them. At least they're enjoying themselves.

So 44 year old Polanski pressuring a 13 year old girl to have sex with him is alright (some lunatic Hollywood types say), but a 23 year old Rob dating a 17 year old Kristen would be an arrestable offence?! Wasn't Kristen already in a long term relationship with Michael Angarano? WTF!

What I'm suggesting is that this whole story sounds ludicrous and fishy. Someone made it all up.

Reply    Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:06 AM on 11/13/2009

umm...when kristen was 17 he was 21 not 23 the age difference is 4 years and she clearly says that they waited until kristen turned 19 plus she was photographed with michael angarano during the shooting of new moon she was 18 when new moon started shooting and 19 by the time new moon wrapped and i think she was photographed at 19 with michael angarano so IF rob and kristen hooked up it was after michael dumped kristen sometime during this past spring or summer when kristen was 19

I've never had a picture taken with a loved one where I was posing as if the other person wasn't even there. These two look like they're in love with they're careers...not each other.

"...has all but confirmed the long-rumored..."

This just in! We might infer from the following rumored hearsay the possibility that the events we'd like you like to imagine might some day occur, and in the meantime if you'd like to repeat this in order to help us sell our Mormon vampire polygamy child slavery product, why, we'll just keep on spraying calorie free bubbles like a bottle of seltzer that's been opened too fast!

Woo hoo!

Hardwicke is so not a true friend of Kristen's. Why would she say this in public? I don't get it. It's the girl's private life and I'm sure private conversation. Not cool, Hardwicke.
