The Raw Story:

Liberal bloggers are accusing Fox News of launching an Internet war against them in a campaign to selectively remove Fox clips from YouTube.

On Wednesday, YouTube shut down the popular News1News channel, which featured news clips that many progressive bloggers and news sites would add to their stories. On the rare occasion, Raw Story also embedded News1News clips in stories having to do with media coverage. The channel provided clips from all news networks, but often focused on Fox's controversial commentators.

What are the chances that another news channel (other than MSNBC) picks up this story? I think this is an important development but will other networks see it that way? So far they haven't seen anything wrong with fauxnews organizing political rallies, or the fact that fauxnews has staffers help pump up crowds. The major networks never even brought up hannitys recent editing job. The lack of attention in and of itself should be newsworthy. So I will be surprised if it comes up at all.

It is firmly established as fair use to use clips from news and information programs for purposes of commentary or in a documentary program. Basically, Fox exploited their status as a movie studio with MPAA legal clout to abuse Youtube policy. This also highlights one of the many problems with the Millennium Copyright Act - it gives police power and impunity to corporate media distributors.

Faux news just wants to try and hide their "stupid" from being caught. Funny that this decree comes on the week that Jon Stewart made mincemeat out of seannity and Fox for being the liars that they are.

Let's not stop there, let's purge Faux from the web and airways altogether. They can deliver their shows to each other in the privacy of their hidden evi1lair.

We demand the right to say whatever we want to say.
We demand our right to privacy so no one knows we said it.

This is FASCISM at its worst. Rupert Murdoch and his agenda are a THREAT to all freedoms. Again, I speak of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse and in my opinion, if he is not one of them, he's holding the collar of one of the horses. (Interestingly, I have written that before but it never made it out of the moderator's gate, Can't wait to see if this makes it). Y'all have a good day.

The Internet is vast and they cannot purge it entirely. Just move the clips to another website.

All news media should be accessible to the people for free. It will make things more efficient, allow people to run government better, just like how they are going to unite data bases for patients' histories and medical research.

If you look at this article which is generously provided with links to important newspapers like the NY Times and other papers, you will notice that they have made these articles inaccessible. They have their eye on the internet. They do not like the fact that they do not have control over it. They will rewrite history if we let them.

Selective censorship? Does YouTube really want to go there?

The folks at YouTube need to tell Fox, that their policy is 'All or None'.

Except it's not. It's really, really selective. Even the "no nudity" rule doesn't apply to the feature films they're making ad money off of.
