What's Your Reaction?
Vincent Palin

Media Matters has highlighted some incendiary statements from Sarah Palin's co-author. Lynn Vincent, a features editor at World magazine, turns out to be an outspoken anti-gay crusader and conspiracy theorist.

On homosexuality, which she calls "deviance" and a "disorder":

The homosexual ethos depends on an abandonment of truth ... [T]he gay quest for "civil rights" bears little resemblance to the struggles of blacks and suffragists, whose eventual liberation benefited society at large. Instead, it calls up the American communists of the '50s and '60s who, in order to advance the radical interests of a narrow group, created a spurious "victim class," then convinced America that theirs was the side of justice.

In her book "Donkey Cons: Sex, Crime, and Corruption in the Democratic Party," Vincent suggested President Clinton intentionally started the Monica Lewinsky scandal to distract from a campaign finance investigation.

Read much more here.

In an interview with former Miss California Carrie Prejean published Friday, Vincent defended her stance against gay marriage by saying she has many gay friends:

See, the irony is that people like Carrie and I can be confidantes and even best friends with the gays and lesbians in our lives. ... We can collaborate on ideas, as I did with "Anlir," a gay commenter whose ideas I often adopted when I managed World Magazine's evangelical-focused blog. We can even be accepting of our family members' sexuality.

But if we dare to differ on the issue of gay marriage, then the truth about our actual relationships with gays and lesbians is ignored, liberals' clairvoyant "insight" into our hearts and minds is substituted as fact, and our protestations are filed mockingly under the "some of my best friends" defense.

Its so nice that kindred souls have found each other and collaborated on mutual nonsense. Why are these people famous? Do we need their opinions? Isn't there enough important stuff we need to know about instead of this weird distraction?

Journalists are only gossip mongers these days - and what else is new?

A couple of years ago, I attended a lecture by Jonathan Katz. He spoke of the artist Jasper Johns and the new evolution of homophobia. He described that since the later part of the 20th Century, our society has developed a more open view of the homosexuals. Frankly, that is also an act of feint as they refuse to see us as an equal. Even those who claim to see us as an equal still refuse our lawful rights. Therefore, taking our resources and services while holding us strapped down on a repressive booster chair has become a form of discrimination.

Therefore, simply noticing and mingling with the minorities no longer define integration; the only resolution to this is to recognize and celebrate diversity -- in this case granting all the same rights for gays including gay marriage.

So calling homosexuality deviance and a disorder is evidence of being anti-gay? On what basis?

In the sense that one is telling gay persons that they are sick and wrong --- yeah.

Since most of them, after struggling with the issue in a personal way that heterosexuals will never understand, can BE NO OTHER WAY than gay, they must then gather the stength and the will to survive in a culture that continuely wants to marginalize them for being "sick and wrong."

All the "sick and wrong" labels in existence do not change the fact that most homosexuals are unable to change their orientation. Most of the apparently "succesful cures" of homosexualtiy touted are specious and/or merely severe denial. Both of which most frequently eventually erode and the gay person reverts to his/her own, original, innate and in-born sexual orientation.

My sincere sympathy goes out to those gay persons who have been made so fearful of other people's claims of eternal punishment for a biological reality, that they cling to denial no matter how many decades of daily misery and deprivation are entailed.

On the basis that you have no evidence to support such a statement.

Here in San Francisco, many of us plan to buy every copy of Playgirl w/ Levi. Some, not so much to see his photos, but to embarrass Palin the most.
Are we being juvenile? You betcha!

Maybe we should all get together and mail her every copy we purchase?

The gay gene makes us immune to your winks and swimsuit prancing (remember who does your highlights babydoll!) Over processing the blonde in a bottle could lead to ALOT of bad hair days.

The "cuter than kitten mittens" factor is wasted energy on us. (We are pretty sure that the we know exactly where the fangs and claws are hidden, and we think it snarled at us!)

And yes, we do want to wrap our arms around Levi and bring him into the fold.

Just because the gays trim your bushes doesn't mean we're best friends.

My request for an official copy of the gay agenda has yet to be filled, but I did overhear a group of top gay interior designers plotting when W bought a place in Dallas. They made a pact that no matter which one of them was hired, the end result would be to convince the W's to do the new place up in plaid.

Try not to burn any bridges with your hair stylist buttercup, we'd all be sad to see you on the campaign trail in your waders with a mullet.

There IS NO "Gay gene"! Even the researcher who supposedly "discovered" it admits that he had no scientific evidence for it.

I'm always fascinated by the implied right wing definition of acceptance. There's this whole condescending "we know you're sick and wrong, but we love you so we put up with you" tone to it all. Demanding justice isn't "inserting your cause" into the national fabric, it's asserting your rights.
Continuing to see the GLBT community as less than human- now that's deviant.

As a Green who voted Democrat, I'm seriously considering giving my campaign donation money to Palin. It might do us more good than giving it to Obama. If Palin becomes the GOP nominee, the Republican Party is going to disintegrate sometime between 2014 and 2020, after a record-breaking electoral massacre in 2012. The lack of competition will make the Democratic Party stagnate further, leading to ITS disintegration somewhere in the 2020's.

Perfect.

If you live in a state that matters, consider registering Republican and voting for Palin in the primary.

This one goes out to all the b1g0ts and short bus passengers: Being gay is not deviant. It is repression that causes so-called deviant behavior. If you are so concerned with what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home even if it doesn't affect you in any way then maybe you are the one who is deviant. If you are looking for deviant behavior then you will find it simply because you are looking for it. Spend more time examining your own thoughts and feelings instead of peeking into the personal lives of others.

The buffoons you speak of can do no introspection. It is not in their nature to question anything they have every been told was true. It is not in their nature to critically examine anything, let alone thier own lives and mental processes.

They are the lost.

You've been unopressed for some years now. How to explain the Gay Pride parades, and the bathhouses?
