Obama did not give them any slack when it comes to their practices .... and speak out against the things that they do.... he spoke of freedom of speech and human rights ....

i cant believe that article.. i don't doubt they did do that but O did speak out against it ..... i watched his speeches and know what he said .....
this is misleading people about O ....

he spoke about better trade agreements that will benefit both of our countries ... and how it can be done to help both of our countries... he spoke of the good they have already done about climate change but told them that we all can do better .... talked to them about how to increase their their income for all their people....

they should have listened to his speech then wrote their story and should have been more open to the truth..... his speeches are online if anyone missed them and wants to listen to them

If the Democrats had their choice they'd imprison anyone that does not march in lock-step with Savior Obama.

To be fair, it's not the Democrats but the Progressives. They are not the same.

MADE IN CHINA

average wage in China is 49 cents an hour, they work 7 days a week, 14 hours a day.
no worker's right, health care, safety and pollution controls.

Next time you buy something made in China remember that.

shocked that gwb didnt do this before any of his speeches or appearances.
.
"free speech" zones were about a mile away from most venues.
.
.
china did the same thing with homeless and shanty towns before their olympic games, just so the world wouldnt see anything but their colossal stadium, the luxury hotels, and all the "approved" citizens of china.

Bitch all you want about China but when Palin becomes president you're gonna wish Obama detained dissidents.

Why did President Obama ask China to detain the dissidents?

Who cares, as long as American multinationals keep making billions on the backs of China's poor and at the expense of American jobs and the envirnment, no one will care. Little nothing countries like Iran and Afganistan are our concern (at the instruction of Israel) while America's true concerns are allowed to grow and fester unchallenged. How can Cuba be a threat while China is our "most favored" trading partner...our politics are owned by corporations who's interests surpass all others.

Why am I not surprised?

In a nation of over a billion Chinese there has to be millions of dissidents. Even America has its dissidents. The detaining of 100 dissidents by China before the American president arrives is a good idea. Many are mentally ill and are constantly at the airport shouting: "GO HOME" to all foreign dignitaries.

Yeah, because detaining the mentally ill is a good thing.

And we can't have China looking weak for arriving visitors, can we?

Sheesh.
12:22 PM on 11/15/2009
ha ha, so you don't detain the mentally ill and let them travel freely like Cho Seung Hui?

So? Anyone who disagreed with Bush, even if it was a bumper sticker, couldn't get into to one of his "townhalls". China is importing alot more than lead coated toys. It is also importing a raison d'etre for totalitarianism.
The race to bottom has been won. Shock Doctrine has triumphed. We're still in the "Shock" phase. I hope we get over it before our neighbors and we are sent to the KBR camps

We ourselves helped to prop Chinese-style communism.
Lots of enterprises in China belong to the government (the same way as it was in Soviet Union). Government (read communist) officials control every aspect of production and bring cheap peasants as slave for a stint at sweat shops.
Yes, there are people - mostly educated and loyal to the commies - who benefited enormously of this financially and otherwise. But still there still mistreat people and block freedom and democracy.

These are the people we are in bed with. The Chinese create slave labor capitalism and it is funded by Walmart. Shop any where but Walmart this year and every year. They don't need your money.
12:20 PM on 11/15/2009
It's Americans who created Slave labour capitalism, as Walmart is a 100% American corporation, whose stock is mostly owned American citizens.

Please understand China's government---it's trying to keep our Prez Obama safe from Chinese idea terrorists.
