Palin

Politics Daily:

If Palin can maintain, say, 35-percent support in a multi-candidate presidential field, then she is the odds-on favorite for the GOP nomination.

The secret of Palin's presidential potential is the Republican Party's affection for winner-take-all primaries.

Our nation has already suffered as a result of an uninformed leader of our country for the past 8yrs . Please. we never want to go there again. There are plenty of better canidates out there for republican canidates in 2012. Leave Sarah Palin in Alaska, please.

is it just me, or does this photo make her look like a rabid badger!? "it's not time for a idaho woman gone wild in alaska to be president of the united states; it is just not time." ask bill; he'll tell you.

All the media news pundits are still leaning towards Palin being a viable "candidate", which in my opinion that is not what this media blitz is all about for her, but sure keeps folks interested in her. Nor, so much about her book with the exception that writing it and the TONE, more of a tell-all book Vs substantive policy tome, will help with her career as a TALK show host. And, I don't even mean on the level of Hannity, Beck or O'Reilly, with the exception she will still voice whacky-doodle theories as those three guys do. No, sitting behind a desk with only a camera, crew and a couple of guests is not Sarah's style. She wants the adoring audience, i;e. like on the campaign, and what better way than to have a TALK show. Evidence of that was in the question Oprah specifically asked her, "I hear you are going to do a TALK show. Is that true"? At which point, Palin looked down, looked more nervous and came out with that goofy laugh in the interview. Oprah felt, I can only presume, "if you are going to become my competition to any degree, I might as well scoop your announcement". Remember, Oprah did basically the same to her mentor, Phil Donohue too.

The far right wing repub's are between a rock and a hard place for the next Presidential election so they are looking at anyone that can get on camera. The media are not doing their jobs because they are covering Palin like the election for President is aroud the corner . Many are tunning into Lifetime to watch movies because they have had more than enough of Sarah Palin coverage . Ther are far more pressing issues facing our nation that needs to be discussed by the media . What is wrong with these people?

I don't think the Repub's are between a rock and a hard place with a candidate for the next election. As they sprung Palin on us, an unknown, I can only presume they have someone in wings that we just haven't been privvy to yet. The Repub's have been operating on the "shock and awe" strategyy for some time. They just want "everyone" to believe they are desparate. And, the media is assisting them with that, but they know better too, however, it works for the media too in readers and viewership to let it play out that they are between a rock and a hard place.

This is about making money. We all know all she wants to do is snark and not be held responsible
for anything.
We know what she is.Now we're discussing price.

Right, or just waiting for the ink to dry on her TALK show contract. I'm sure Oprah heard more than just a buzz in this regard and did what any good business person would do, expose the competition and/or beat her at her own game. Played it nice, Oprah.

BTW: the last thing Palin would want to get out before she even made one book stop is that she is NOT going to pursue politics but be a TALK show host instead. All those Palin followers will be mighty disappointed initially for they are putting a lot of their emphasis in Palin running again and that not happening would effect sales.

Yes, it would be. My first thought was back to Rush's attempt to get Repubs to vote for Hillary in the Democratic Primaries. Maybe we should vote for Sarah in theirs.

The media's obsession with this P+=oS is exposing the media's low 'intellectuality' and it's belief of how low in intellectuality they think the American people are.

I predict by 2016 Sarah Palin will be as appealing to the RNC as Katherine Harris. But here's hoping.

Oh please! Everyone knows Palin could never win the presidency. 3/4 of this country know she isn't qualified. Could you see her as our commander in chief going to the Middle East? Winking and you betcha-ing. Yes, she would garner a lot of support for our country, from other countries, and show the real lack of intelligence this country has sunk to if the woman was our president. She sure could show them how to whine and blame everyone else for anything that goes wrong. The Middle East would find us weak and an easy target. Yup, you betcha, she could be president. Uh-huh, right. .

I actually hope that she gets the 2012 Repugnican presidential nomination so the Repugnican party dies the quick death it deserves. I might even be tempted to switch my voter registration to Republican just to vote for her in my state's primary as, alas, we do not have open primaries here.

Someone should write a counter-book about how doomed we'd be if Sarah Palin were President and how the planet would be affected. I bet you could make a killing off of a movie...

Okay HP, you got me. All I saw was "How Sarah can win the 2012..." and clicked furiously to see who the dolt was that thought the Snow Queen could win the 2012 PRESIDENTIAL race. That said, yes, it's conceivable she could clinch the GOP nomination(please, pretty please), but that's all. She has a fervent following, but it won't translate to the other 80% of the nation.

If Palin wins the presidency, the US (and possibly the rest of the world) is doomed.

Bush left America so much worst off than when he entered office. For the next 8 years, though hubris, utopianism and sheer stupidity, the best parts of America were shattered into beaded glass. America's international relations were in tatters, civil rights trampled on, international law jettisoned, the political process corrupted beyond recognition, the domestic economy sunk and the US military bogged down in wars that achieved little beyond undermining the fight against terrorism, as well as undermining US legitimacy and moral superiority. All of which framed America as a country in decline.

Bush made everybody remember why ignorance, stupidity and arrogance are undesirable qualities in a world leader. A lesson everybody could have done without.

The election of Obama has gone some way to restoring what was lost. But if Palin gets elected, America is finished. To elect somebody less intelligent than Bush, even more proudly ignorant, even more disinterested in facts and evidence, even more reactionary, even more ideological, and even less qualified than Bush and Obama put together - America would never recover. It would constitute a continatuation of the spiral downwards, which gathered tremendous momentum under Bush. It would, ultimately, give permission to the international community to treat America like a joke.
