Christmas Bongs

LOS ANGELES — Customs officials say they got a surprise when they found 316,000 glass bongs disguised as Christmas ornaments at the Los Angeles harbor.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Thursday that agents found the highly decorated drug pipes in 860 boxes shipped from China. The cargo, estimated to be worth more than $2.6 million, had been described as glass figures and Christmas ornaments.

The bongs were seized Tuesday at the Los Angeles/Long Beach port complex.

Customs spokeswoman Cristina Gamez says the importer remains under investigation and there have been no arrests. She says it is illegal to import or export drug paraphernalia in the United States.

Thank God Homeland Security is on the job. We don't want the terrorists getting us all high. It is sad that this is not a story in the Onion. Can't wait for legalization in this country so we can all stop caring about the ridiculousness of such stories. This country needs to get over its childish morality, and live-and-let-live.

It might be a neat idea to use bongs as Christmas ornaments.

Thus that wealth is becoming increasingly concentrated and the middle and lower classes are becoming increasingly unable to maintain standards of living. Jobs are going away, wages are declining. There is a risk of collapse of the entire system.

the worst part is with globalism the elite dont' even need the working poor or Amerika to buy their crud anymore. Instead china, India, Europe, and South America fill that role.

In the meantime however 658,000 marihuana plants disguised as Christmas trees got through.

Now for the weather, a large high formed over California and is expected to remain until smoke from an unknown source clears up.

In business news there were signs of economic life as a shortage of grape sodas and chocolate donuts was reported throughout the State due to an unusually high demand.

It is time for middle class bailout. NO more stupid rebate gimmicks. No more more neoconservative politics. We need more jobs even if these jobs create an economic net loss.

I'm tired of this over emphasis on efficiency; the last thing that gonna be on policy maker's mind is efficacy when 60+ million unemployment American says they aren;t gonna take it any more.

USA gov really likes sticking its nose into peoples business. Thats gotta suck.
But I don't care, I live in Canada, so the US laws dont apply here.

......
.... say what?

US DEA agents arrest Canadian Marijuana activist and leader of the BC Marijuana Party in Vancouver BC for selling seeds on the internet. ....
But its leagal in Canada to sell seeds over the internet.
......
Oh, its illeagal for Americans to import marijuana seed.....

Then why did the DEA arrest the Canadian for?

Because he is the leader of a political party that has a stated agenda of decrinalization of Marijuana use, and the US government has a right to go invade aNY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD BECASUE THE usa SAYS SO.

The usa is a rouge nation, no different then North Korea or Iran.

The DHS should be dissolved. I heard that they took the most annoying people from all of the other agencies and put them all there. All the deviants in one department now.

TSA is under DHS, and all they are doing, I believe, from what I can see, is running a racket at the airports, ripping off people's luggage. They don't even screen the screeners or handlers before they go home!
