What's Your Reaction?

Unhappy fans of Sarah Palin went rogue on the Alaska Republican during her book tour stop in Noblesville, Indiana on Thursday.

The local Borders outlet had handed out 1,000 wristbands to book purchasers; the wristbands were supposed to procure fans Palin's signature on their hardback copies of "Going Rogue." But several dozen people who had been promised signatures were turned away empty-handed after waiting hours in poor weather, a local news outlet, the Indy Channel, reported.

"We gave up our entire workday, stayed in the cold, my kids were crying," one man was quoted saying. "They went home with my wife. She was out here in the freezing cold all day. I feel like I don't want to support Sarah."

Another woman told Indy Channel, "We bought two books from Borders to have our receipt and our wristband to get it signed tonight. My books are going back to Borders tomorrow."

The angry crowd turned on Palin as she returned to her "Going Rogue" tour bus. Video below shows people booing and shouting at the bus, and shouting "Sign our books Sarah!" as the engine revved up and Palin departed.

DailyKos put together a compilation reel of local news coverage:

People are surprised that she quit something early without finishing the job?

Really?

Obviously the book tour figured out how to do things better. I was fortunate enough to be in upstate NY over the past weekend where she was signing books. The event was scheduled to last 3 hours but she stayed for over 4 hours and didn't leave until she signed books for everyone present. The left's fascination in tearing Palin down is almost as interesting as the right's fascination with her.

How do you f*ck up a book signing tour in the first place? Don't bring enough books? Or not enough pens?

Bwhahahahahahahaha - she is like W.

Boo Hoo!! Poor Sarah! Everyone's pickin' on her! My heart bleeds!!

What about Palin's apparent fascination in tearing down Palin? Is that interesting?

She is on the list with other bad things like cancer.

You obviously endorse cancer, right righty?

This is Booing by "fans" of a celebrity NOT "supporters" of a serious candidate. Informed constituents would simply not boo their candidate over something this trivial. Booing by fickle fans is validation Palin is a media darling and nothing of more substance.

Most of the people there were just trying to get eBay fodder. There are over 100 signed copies on eBay, plus 4 copies of something called "Going Rouge."

(It's not like the title is printed on the front or anything.)

Who lets their kids stand out in the cold with them to wait for an autographed copy of a book that represents mass-marketed media-driven politics by a governor who decided to quit her job mid-term? Do people really waste their hard-earned vacation days to get a signed book? Wow. Hmmm...maybe I should talk to my agent about upping the PR drive for my book. As a matter of fact, maybe all of us "author-types" should do that. I wonder if she'll sell her tour bus in about a week or so when the "it" factor wears off...hmmm, then about 200 or so of us no-name writers could actually get a vehicle in which we can ride around and promote real literature. Anyone want to jump on THAT bandwagon?

Probably best not to take it too seriously. The funniest take I have seen on this is the Nov 22nd piece at

hilarious.
Aiden   12:14 PM on 11/24/2009
Have you actually sold any books? I mean other than those purchased by friends and family. You're hardly in a position to criticize someone who sold 700,000 books in her first week. The comedy of your post is almost too much.

.

Who lets their kids stand out in the cold with them to wait for an autographed copy of a book...?

Answer: Those parents who as children were allowed to satisfy their teething needs on their lead-painted cribs.

Admit it, you LOVE sarahPalin. Don't worry, I'll distract Todd for an hour while you and her get busy.

Are Sarah's worshippers disappointed? What are they complaining about?
They got the full Palin experience for their money.

Now you all know those people were placed there as detractor by the 'liberal media'. Palinites would never turn on their moose-eating-lipstick-wearing-hockey-mommy-deer-in-head-lights-de-facto leader. Don'tcha?
ALYankees12   09:43 PM on 11/23/2009
Not really news here, but of course it is the most popular article on this joke of a "news" site.

Sarah made a mistake pulling that in Noblesville. That town is 99% republican...perhaps higher than any place in the country (per the election results for Nixon). Those people won't forget her snub.

Doesn't matter to me. I wouldn't walk across the street to see her, much less stand in line all day to get her signature...and that after buying her book.
gypsysailor   07:36 PM on 11/23/2009
Of course she got on the bus and left before the book signing was over; it's in her genes not to finish anything she starts. Be it the Gov., her family, the book tour, it doesn't matter she quit. Now what do ya'll think she's going to do if she becomes president?

If Palin is elected in November 2012, I will gladly accept the Myan prophecy a month later.

Spare us all and start early.
provgrays   03:27 PM on 11/24/2009
Palin is the Mayan prophecy.
