Palin Bachmann

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) will speak at the first-ever National Tea Party Convention this upcoming February.

The announcement of plans for the conservative lawmaker to attend the Tennessee event came from Tea Party organizer Sherry Phillips via Twitter Tuesday.

Bachmann, who has emerged as a champion of the Tea Party movement, will join ex-Alaska Governor Sarah Palin at the convention for the "purpose of networking and supporting the movements' multiple organizations principle goals." Palin will be the "special keynote speaker" at the event, which is taking place at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.

"Press will be allowed in a designated section of the lobby of the convention only and will not be allowed inside the convention," reports the Nashville Post. "There will be no media allowed for the banquet with Sarah Palin."

Asked by Fox News if she would run in 2012 with Tea Party movement instigator Glenn Beck, Palin did not dismiss or endorse the idea.

Tickets to attend the February 4-6 "private event" can be purchased for $549. The steep price tag does not include hotel lodging, which starts at $436.99 for a three-night package. The Washington Independent reported that just 160 of the hotel's 2,881 rooms were still available as of Wednesday morning.

I'd love to go to a Tea Party that normal people like nurses can afford. How about a big "bring a cooler" to the Washington Mall kind of event? .....while we still can!

Why are they afraid of the press? Can't show the true craziness of these folks on national tv?

Will Bill O complain about not being able to get his shot, as he did with Obama,. the violation of Freedom of the Press? "Don't block the shot!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yS9RKa-A-s

After all, Bill O got a crew into to the National Conference for Media Reform (he described the conference as loons to be ignored and a danger), where we got this great footage of Bill Moyers talking to a Bill O producer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNmXqpOeDPs

For full disclosure, I attended that National Conference for Media Reform. And Arianna Huffington was one of the panelists.

Sarah probably will not show up. If she does, the press will not be allowed anywhere near her, as usual. She talks about American liberties, like free speech and freedom of the press, but she constantly excludes the press from her public appearances.

When I see losers like Palin and Bachmann carrying on about being the true patriors and Americans and claiming to be the future of their party and of America, I don't know whether to laugh, scream or cry. Neither of these shrill, clueless harpies are doing a damn thing to help our country heal and grow, they are only interested in attracting money and attention by tripping over themselves by moving farther and farther to the right.

America is in serious trouble and we need serious, intelligent diplomats and statesmen/women to address the multiple crisis Bush and Cheney dumped on us. Obama fits this description and they hate him for it. They would rather see this country become a third-world country so long as they get to blame it all on Obama and the Democrats.

When all you can attract are mentally unstable government-haters, gun-lovers and assorted racists, homphobes and other lunatics, you don't have a political party, you have chaos and stupidity disguised as patriotism, which effectively pushes away most of the country, and anyone who can actually think for themselves. You reap what you sow.

This is the Tea Party Movement that Palin and Bachmann are speaking at in February.

http://teapartypatriots.ning.com/

This is the Tea Party Patriots Movement that claims to be the original and which is planning a Glenn Beck Rally in March in FL.

Maybe this is why Beck has disowned Palin because they are already in different parties. There are going to be so many fringe right wing groups, it will be hard to tell who is who.

Anti government rallies being attended by elected officials.....What are they thinking?

She said "I don't know we'll see, we'll see", while Beck said essentially when hell freezes over. You know that you have a problem when Beck is the voice of reason

After eight years of Bush/Cheney, the Republican Party has turned into a party of looneys. At last, the veil has been removed and the truth released.

Cheney was and still is a fanatical lunatic.

George II - well I think the excesses of his 20's and 30's finally caught up with him.

The sweet irony is that many of those Lipton Tea bags they buy to wear as body ornaments are grown in Kenya. Who knows, they may very well be helping to employee some of President Obama's extended family tree.

Lipton employs about 25,000 Kenyans. Lipton also provides up to 100,000 extended family members with free housing, education and health care.

I bet they are going to call themselves a Constitutional Convention, and try to de-legitimize the current US Government (or at least claim that Obama is not the President "...'cause he's one o' dem fur'ners", and that any 'Librul' in government needs to be ousted from office).

Here would be their modified Preamble:

"We the White Peoples of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Confed'racy, establish Theocracy, insure domestic oppression of women and minorities, provide for the defense contractors, promote the welfare of the wealthy and corporations, and secure the Blessings of prejudice and bigotry to ourselves, do ordain and establish this New Order for the Confed'rate States of America."

That would go along with other changes, including, but not limited to, establishment of Protestant Evangelical Christianity as the State Religion; the naming of new Saints, including Ronald Reagan, Pat Buchanan, and Jerry Falwell; the creation of concentration camps for homosexuals; the establishment of Fox News as the new Ministry of Propaganda; and changing the 13th Amendment (abolishing slavery) to no abortions for any women, no matter the circumstances, upon penalty of death.
