Michelle Obama Ordered Thigh-High Boots From France: Report

Viva la France!, in the Obama household, at least. AFP is reporting that Michelle Obama has ordered two pairs of boots from French shoemaker Robert Clergerie: "A black pair with flat heels as well as another pair of calf-length boots in soft beige buckskin, both in size 41 (US size nine-and-a-half, British size seven)." Clergerie said that one of the styles was slightly changed at Michelle's request, an accommodation he's used to after working with Madonna, Bianca Jagger and French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy.

The Obamas have previously waved their French fashion flag high, with Sasha and Malia wearing Parisian label Dino E Lucia in the First Family photo.

SouthernWisdom is knowingly and wilfully bearing false witness. And in addition, she's knowingly and wilfully spreading rumors and lies. Furthermore, all her comments are geared toward badmouthing either the President or his family. It's as if she's on a mission as a paid professional. All these actions are telling that she's a despicable person who lacks a moral backbone. She should be dealt with on this website based on these facts!

Here’s an idea for all of you who are constantly criticizing our First Lady for “flaunting her wealth” or falsely accusing her of spending your tax dollars. Do a research project and tell us what the wives of the people you voted for spend on their clothes and those of their children. Let us know where the clothes were made and purchased. Don't forget to let us know if these same wives earned advanced degrees and six figure incomes before they got to where they are today. And please let us know approximately how much time these same women spend doing charity work and inviting constituents in their homes. I'm sure I'm not the only who can't wait to see what you discover.

AmerLes.....Here's the problem, most of the complainers voted for Obama, one of the reasons being, that they thought he offered "change", no same ol', same ol'. Hillary also had advanced degrees, and is a life long feminist and activist. I don't think anyone commented much on her wardrobe, I don't think she had any aspirtations to be a fashionista. She was pretty low key in the fashion realm.
As to Ms Obama's six figure income, you are the one who needs to do your research. That has been explained in earlier posts. Three of my kids graduated from the Ivy League, big deal. I would expect them to make six figures, but just my luck, they all went into human and wildlife service jobs. That's what we get for trying to set a good example.. So long, cushy retirement. !! lol

I have a pair of thigh high boots and I love them, but I never wear them. They keep my knees warm and are very flattering, but they seem too sexy for work and just about most places. I'd like to see what Michelle Obama wears them with that make them look more appropriate.

While I agree that First Ladies pay for their own clothing (well, SOME do--Nancy Reagan had a little problem with that), I don't think it's an accurate comparison, comparing Michelle Obama, First Lady, to Cindy McCain, wife of Senator.

The First Lady is more visible, so people in general talk about her more.

I can't remember the last time Cindy McCain was mentioned--anywhere. She's largely irrelevant now.
