Palin Wants To Interview Katie Couric, 'See 'If She's Learned Anything Yet About Alaska' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 03/18/10 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 03:45 PM ET

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin devoted a chunk of her book to explaining her disastrous interview with CBS News' Katie Couric.

Asked if she would ever grant an interview to the anchor again, the "Going Rogue" author said she would rather Couric be in the hot seat. "I want to know if she understands yet what we have to contribute up there in the state of Alaska," Palin told Fox News.

Ms. Palin performed poorly in the Couric interview. Ms. Palin seemed ill-prepared and so terrified of giving a wrong answer that she instead chose to give a hollow, generic, all-encompassing non-answer. Instead of taking responsibility for her own poor performance, she blames the interviewer. Do Palin fans and supporters out there really consider, "What do you read?" to be a "gotcha" question? If they do, then sadly, that explains a lot about the state of this country today.

I'm no Ivy-leaguer; I'm a high school graduate. But it doesn’t take a college degree to know that knowin' stuff is better for you than not knowin' stuff. I'm open to learning something new every day of my life, and if I don’t have the information I need, I’m willing to put in the time and effort, and to do my homework. Ms. Couric does her homework - Ms. Palin does not.

An interview of Ms. Couric by Ms. Palin would, of course, be ratings gold, but I doubt it would go the way Ms. Palin has it pictured in her head. An interview of Ms. Couric on her worst day by Ms. Palin on her best would still graphically illustrate Ms. Palin’s just-hand-it-to-me laziness, her inability to think intelligently on her feet, and her complete lack of intellectual curiosity.

She’d probably fare better if she just challenged Couric to a cage-match instead, and I’m sure it would still be ratings gold.

She is so arrogant to think that she is even qualified to interview Couric. Couric could run rings around Palin. There is no comparison to intelligence.

Ahh yes... ignore the issue (of Palin being clueless) and make it about Couric not knowing enough about Alaska. I am fairly certain that Couric was not running for public office, the standard is a little different. Beck stays on the air misquoting Shakespeare and whatnot... That must be why Palin decided to go back to TV, no knowledge necessary (at least that is the case on Fox)

I want to interview Sarah Palin to see if she's learned anything about America.
My guess is she hasn't.

Once again, Palin is clueless. Couric wasn't interested in Alaska. She was interviewing Palin on her credentials to be vice president, not to mention potentially president, of the United States. No one really cared what her agenda was regarding Alaska -- except possibly the wolves she was so excited about slaughtering from helicopters.

I don't know why Palin thinks that her personal ignorance is attributable to Alaska. Couric never made it about Alaska but Palin did. Doesn't that mean that she (P) has a complex about her own home state?

I would rather see Shannyn Moore, that little girl from Homer, interview her on national TV, anyway.

Sarah Palin no longer represents Alaska. She holds no public office there. She quit. Remember?

And I'm sure Couric wants to interview Palin again, "To see if she's learned anything yet...period."
