Dana Perino, recently nominated by President Obama to the Broadcasting Board of Governors, made an odd claim Tuesday night.

On Fox News, the former press secretary suggested President Obama was playing politics by refusing to describe the massacre at Fort Hood as a terrorist attack. "We should call it what it is," she said.

"We did not have a terrorist attack on our country during President Bush's term," she told Sean Hannity. "I hope they're not looking at this politically. I do think that we owe it to the American people to call it what it is."

Watch:

For those with memories as spotty as Perino's, President Bush took office on January 20, 2001. On September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 people were killed in the U.S. in terrorist attacks coordinated by al-Qaeda. Five people were killed later that year in the anthrax attacks.

Her comments make me more angry than anything. Everyone around Bush was this convoluted and blind to reality the past 8 years. It would have been better if she said there were WMD's in Iraq, or Katrina was just a light rainstorm, or 4,000 soldiers are just taking a nap.

Maybe what she said was partially true. After all Bush was not watching in the summer of 2001!

Typical of the Republican strategey since they left office. Just say something, anything no matter how big the lie, there is always some people stupid enough to buy it. If you just keep repeating it over and over, it will stick in some whcko's head. Indoctrinate the uninformed and those who love to hate by just lying over and over and over. This is how Beck, The Chenney's, Hannity, Limbaugh and the Republican Senators operate. You notice no one corrected or challenged her comment on this Fox interview. Disgusting? The media consistently let's them get away with it thus further "duping" the country with this kind of crap. If Obam'a press secretary ever said something so false it would be on all the cable news programs and talked about by pundits for weeks and weeks and weeks.

That Bush's watch never worked, just like most of his administration.
